Considering a 6" lift on the 16 Tundra but not sure of the downside... There is always a downside, right? Adding 18" VISION GREY SE7EN WHEELS
    [IMG]
    and 35" Nitto Rigde Grapplers.
I like the Icon coil overs like on my 01 Tundra but they don't offer anything in 6" lift. Is it just for looks - the 6" lift? It does look good but don't want to sacrifice handling or other unknowns. If I do the lift is ProComp any good? Its the big brand available locally other than Icon just down the street from me. Don't want to break the bank in the process. Any suggestions?

Also, is a 20" rim necessary with a 6" lift? I would hate to get the 18's and have clearance issues with suspension...

Are you stuck on a 6 inch lift. Icon could get you a quality 3 inch lift without cutting the cross member. That’s the route I would go. Otherwise I do believe procomp makes a 6 inch lift using coil overs.

I may just be stuck on the looks. Sorry reason, I know..... I do want to get it off in the rocks from time to time so would this lift help? I currently have 3" spacers on the front and blocked in the rear. Factory ride is SO SOFT! Hate it. and it handles like a whale. Would like to stiffen up the whole rig and make it more capable off road.

The Icon coil overs were the single best thing I did on the '01. The '16 is a bit bigger and want it to look the 'big truck' part. Right now the '16 with the 3" spacer is the same height as the '01 with Icon coil overs.

It's all for show unless you are "TRULY" hardcore off-roading in either axle deep mud and or boulders/rocks. Center of gravity changes dramatically. Fuel mileage goes into the toilet. This forum is built on many of the trucks being lifted so you'll get plenty of support for doing so, and if that's what you want go for it. Just don't have any illusions for what you get out of it.

Hard to believe gas mileage could get much worse.... I don't want to throw money away and want a return when off in the dirt but want to be able to justify the cost. I guess the most important thing is to get the handling stiffened up while getting a little more height for tire clearance. I hate white knuckled off-ramp experiences! Squeeling tires and all...

6" lift here from RC, running 35's on 20x9 +20 wheels tires flush with fender flares, no rubbing, I bought the truck used, it came that way from dealer, ran the VIN# dealer had it done, did some research and spoke with RC tech, I could remove this kit as the RCM isn't cut on either end, but I need to buy stock OEM parts of I wanted to go lower and for better ride quality, this lift looks cool but the ride is crap, only off-roading is beach drives and some back roads, IMHO I'd do some more research for your lift that you want, good luck

Got it. Joined the forum to get some insights from all you guys pro or con... Appreciate the input. Maybe Icon is the best route to improve handling and have a modest lift without sacrificing ride too much or gas mileage.

I have a stock TRD Pro that comes with a 2" lift from the factory. I have the stock TRD Pro rims and went with OEM sized (275/65/18's) BFG KO2's. I tow close to max weight from time to time and did not want to lessen the power by going with a larger tire. Will be installing airbags and cradles soon to compensate for suspension drop in the rear when towing.

I just went with a 3” BDS kit, 35” tires. I do have to trim the bumper a little, but nothing crazy.

    17” wheels btw.

6” PC Stage II. Ride is excellent, firm yet supple. Running 35s on 18s. +1 offset. They stick out a bit, widening the stance, but no issues with rubbing and has surprisingly great characteristics in the corners!

I tow every now and again (my tractor, excavators, wood). Towing is no issue, except getting a properly dropped hitch.

Avg mpg, right now...and this is after a week of Ubering mind you...18.1
I am running a hyper tech system.
Want decent MPG??? Stay off the go pedal hahaha
