Hey everyone, first off happy Memorial day. I have a question for any with the Blazing Blue color trucks. I was thinking of Powder Coating the ends to color match the truck, I'm just curious if anyone else has had success in doing so and getting the color to actually match because from what I can tell, the paint codes don't seem to have direct translations to powder coating (feel free to correct me if I'm in correct with that statement). Worst case I'm looking at just doing the Ends black, but if anyone has done this and had success any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Well I'm guessing by the almost 100 views and no replies that this is a hard no, I've got a few feelers out to various local shops, if I come across an answer I will pass the word for anyone interested.

I've thought about doing that as well, I just can't see it being super durable to rocks kicking up. I do a lot of highway and interstate driving, and I think powder coating would hold up better against that. I may be completely wrong on the durability of the vinyl though...

Did you do the install your self or get it done at a shop? What did it run you to get it done if you don’t mind me asking.

I vinyl wrapped all 4 bumper ends and my grill surround to be the mgm color and its help up through mud, rocks, shopping carts, pressure washing and I drive the highway everyday. It's just something to keep in mind.

Edit: I did mine myself as a first time wrapper and got it done in two days, no one can tell its wrapped, and all less than $100 with extra tools

An old buddy did mine. I think I paid $60 or so. I don’t recall.

I may have to go that route if I can get it done at that cost. I’ll have to look further into it. I appreciate the inputs!

    Bone stock.
Tundra colors have been very unique of late. I really haven't seen a good wrap or powdercoated bumper done yet. Color is always off. I know Toyota sells the body colored bumpers now which should get the job done perfectly. I'm sure they're not cheap but save up for them. They will also help resale value.

Yeah I was looking at the pricing on that, but for that price I may as well get the NFAB bumper I’ve been eyeing up and just powder coat the back bumper black. Wouldn’t cost too much more at that point.

A good powder coat shop should have a good selection of samples to choose from.
The PC guy I use in Houston has over 100 different colors, single, dual, and triple stage with and without clear coat including a matte finish.

Mind sharing what shop your powder coat guy is located at in Houston? I want to do a chrome delete in my MGM and looking at all options (powder coat, vinyl, plastidip, etc.). Thanks
