Came from a 2017 Tundra sr5 to an Audi a4. I love the Audi, but I truly believe I need another truck lol.... girlfriend thinks I'm crazy.

I know what I would get with a 2020 Tundra Platinum in White. But I do not know anything about the new Sierra. Do any of you know if it's any good?

    Thanks

I like the inside of the sierras better than the Tundras. Tundra is so dated compared to other trucks.. reliability of what’s under the hood is another story

I get that for sure. I like the new looks of the Sierra a lot. My friend has a Silverado. Not a single issue after 4 years. I am always partial to Toyota, but a man can go only go so far on bare bones. Being in the Audi made me realize what comfort can be like. Only if the Audi interior was an actual truck...

I've heard that the Sierra is going to anchor GM's GEN 21 Initiative. GEN stands for: Global Energy Neutrality. As such it is engineered to spend much of its time on 2 cylinders to reduce energy consumption with the double lotto bonus of fewer greenhouse gases which will allow the seas to slide back, well, into the sea.

For the life of me Gertrude, I can't see that there is a decision to made me here.

And now the lawyer part: YMMV.

I'm gonna have to check out the interior of another truck of a recent year. I keep hearing the interior of the Tundra is dated and in desperate need of an update. For the most part, I really like the interior of my Tundra. Other than maybe a grab handle on the driver's side and a better way to organize the giant center console, I can't imagine what else I would want in there.

ETA: I've noticed a lot of newer vehicles have gone to a bunch of buttons for the climate controls, with functions that aren't 100% obvious without reading about them. Personally I love that I just have a simple three knob system in my truck for the climate controls; no need to look down to see what I'm doing with it.

There will be some incremental update probably, and I'm good waiting 8 months. will also have probably the same rebate and naturally have a better resale value for being a year newer.

How do you know what you will get with a 2020 Tundra? Nobody even knows if that will be he next generation and what to expect.

The way I see it the so-called domestic trucks (what a misreading oxymoron) are only good, for the most part, for not much more than 100 to 150k before having electronic and mechanical issues, GM's especially. Good thing GM aftermarket parts are cheap and found everywhere, because if you keep the truck past 100kish you'll need those resources. Tundras are 300k mile trucks with relatively minimal repair and maintenance work comparatively. Don't go broke saving money. As far as the interiors, my interior is all I want, need and expect out of a "truck". Hell I've owned somewhere around 20 different trucks over the last 44 years, starting with a '69 Datsun pickup. Owned every manual and auto transmission configurations imaginable. The Spartan interiors of those trucks of yesteryear have a Gestalt all their own. I feel like I am riding around in a Cadillac now, anymore posh and I'll have to start raising my pinky when I go to drink my Chai latte.

LOL - hopefully nobody from your Audi thread makes it in here - they were raggin on ya for going to a car.
You’re doing what I did. Just buy both :D

ETA - oh, and you have to go Tundra.
You need at least one reliable vehicle.

Yes. As everyone clearly knows, brand new trucks from other manufacturers will not last, because we’ve all seen what happens when new sierras hit 100k miles. Oh wait... we haven’t because they’re new. Why bother asking this question to a bunch of tundra fanboys? Get what you like and what meets ur needs. New cars from just about any manufacturer are going to last a long time. I love my tundra but wouldn’t hesitate to get a new Ford, Chevy, whatever. I bought my truck for a no frills off-road truck that I could easily modify. For a daily driver with modern comforts and tech, I wouldn’t own a tundra

Guy I work with got a 2018 z71 with 'leather' it's paper thin. Way too many controls and too many car like bells and whistles. It just feels cheap for some reason too. My father in laws 3500 diesel Denali is better for sure but that's a whole different level of vehicle altogether

    None..... Yet
I remember when I use to sell at a Toyota dealership and before that a Chevy dealership. Spent much time getting in and out of many different vehicles. The one thing that sticks in my head from those years is that every time I got in a domestic vs a Toyota, the domestics felt so cheaply made. I switched to buying Toyota ever since and never looked back. Just picked up my Tundra this past fall and didnt even consider anything else even though I know the competition gets better MPG and is more with the times with the tech. My Tundra has better reliability and resale. I think the looks are great too. My purchase was a 2017 with low miles with the thought of buying the next generation in a few years... hoping for the Tundra to catch up in the tech area and MPG. I agree with Watt Maker, Toyota screwed up the 3rd generation Tacoma with that stupid engine / tranny combo. I know, I traded one in for the Tundra.
