Still amazes me to think that when we studied WWII in high school history class, it was only 20 years prior and seemed like the previous century. But when kids in HS today study history (IF they study history:rolleyes:) it's been 50 years since Vietnam.
It WAS the previous century. Yeah, I'm really old!

I could probably thing of a crap load just like everyone else but:

Watching trains run on the PRR in town and some still had steam engines.
Not having seat belts in cars.
    Metal dashboards.
Radios that glowed in the dark.
    Dressing like this was in!
    upload_2018-12-2_6-19-8.jpg
Yeah that's me on the right, I was 17 then.
The Arab Oil Embargo of 1973 when the price price of gas double from $.25 for ethyl to around $.50, I drove a '68 Impala with a 396ci in it.
The fear of us going into an ice age in the late 70s.
8 tracks were far better than the 'new' cassettes because of the faster speed of the tapes.
Now I refuse to change my oil now because if I crawled under the truck to work I'd fall asleep.
And finally, I retired from the Air Force over 23 years ago after 'doing' my 20.

When a PVT2 (me) had to stand at parade rest while talking to his PFC roommate during duty hours. My first unit was an Airborne Infantry unit in Panama. HHC 1/508th PIR. Red Devils!
Seeing them deactivate and then reactivate years later.

Just because it’s MGM doesn’t make the motor hit and miss. It’s still a Toyota.

Saying the Pledge of Allegiance at the start of each school day. And you wouldn’t even think of not doing it or the teacher would beat your ass with a yardstick in the front of the class.
