Towing with lifted truck

What’s up guys. I have to say - this is a great forum. I’ve read a ton of threads over the past couple months & you guys are very positive and supportive of each other - no nastiness or bickering. That’s awesome. There’s enough of that crap in the word already, it’s nice to see it’s not here.

I have a ‘16 TT with 7” BDS lift and 37s. It’s fun! I haven’t towed anything with it yet but eventually will. (I’ve only towed light stuff in the past with a Jeep Cherokee I used to have.) With the Tundra, I most likely won’t be towing much more than an 12’ enclosed trailer with camping/hunting equipment for week-long hunting trips. I’m confident I can pull that w/o problems.

If/when I tow anything big & heavy though, should I be concerned about the truck’s stability because of its height? It’s rock-solid right now. I have no jitters/shaking/leaning/nothing - the BDS lift is SOLID. But not sure what that would look like with a lot of weight behind me.

I can’t install the TRD swaybar cause of the lift - I’d have to get a fab shop to extend it. Should I do that for towing anything heavy to give the rear more stability?

 

Lots of people towing with lifted trucks. I'm running a Procomp 6 inch. zero issues.

 

Yes Sir you can install a rear sway bar you can get the Hellwig one for lifted trucks. I have 6" of lift and installed it on mine and really like it made towing and cornering more stable.

 

Like Jeremyd said you will be fine I tow with mine all the time.

Towing lifted should be fine with the right hitch and a quality Weight distribution system.
