    Vehicle:
    2018 SR5 Crewmax
    2018, 2WD, 3EUR 5.7L engine. I've owned it for a few months, still under 1000 miles.

Transmission feels like it has a high stall speed converter, when accelerating normally from a standstill.
Another comparison - also feels like it's starting in 2nd gear.
IOW, give it gas, and engine seems to rev higher than it should, until it's reached 5-7 mph, or so.

No obvious or huge difference between cold vs warmed up. I live in SoCalif, temps are mild, nearly always between 50-80 ºF , year round.
    It's Not in "tow/haul" mode.
I have Not checked the trans fluid level (why are Mfrs not using dipsticks anymore ?!)

I'm going from memory, so unable to give precise numbers for rpms, etc, right now.

It's always been this way -- I ignored it at first, but as I've gotten more familiar with truck, it's starting to bug me.

    Is this "normal"?

Mine did some weird Shit the first few thousand miles but, the truck is still learning your driving style. I thought the same thing. Like maybe the trans fluid was low. After awhile that slip went away and the truck feels more responsive. Hopefully this is your problem. You just need to drive it more.

It just takes time for it to learn your driving habits.

It is learning your driving habits I bought mine in May and at 4900 miles it is still learning a tiny bit but not as much as it used too.
