Okay, Newby Question Regarding Lifts...

I've been a Tundra owner since August of 2006, on my second Tundra (2018) and I've been confused about something regarding lifts.

Do lifts have any functional improvement or are they just for "looks"? If they are for functional improvement, I am unable to see why.

BTW, I do like the look of a slightly lifted Tundra but I'm more of a practical owner and wouldn't consider it if it is only for cosmetics.

Thoughts? Opinions?

Get with @Toytec Lifts they can help but ther are a lot of lift brands out ther on the market and it also depends on how you use your Tundra, weather your a hard core off roader, a weekender or mall crawler, ther are a lot of members on here to assist

 

There’s really only one good reason for lifting a truck other than looking good, and that’s better off road capability.
Increasing clearance from the low hanging parts that drag on rocks and stumps (differentials, frame, fuel tank) is accomplished by being able to fit larger diameter tires. Improving approach and departure angles reduces dragging and helps both in the front and rear. On road, lifting has several negatives: higher center of gravity increases tendency to roll and reduced mileage from higher drag.

 

Excellent, this is exactly what I wanted to know, thanks! I'm mostly on road, stock wheels and tires. Occasionally go dirt roads (Mendocino National Forest) but nothing treacherous. I may end up getting a set of after market wheels someday but that's it.
