That's been the general concensus among anyone I've met that knew him.

Wait, the tailgate lock doesn't lock/unlock along with the rest of the doors? I didn't know that! That's totally lame.

    That is absolutely hilarious!

Grandpa's are the best. Mine lived to that point where he just didn't care what came out of his mouth, everything just unfiltered.

I remember one time when we were visiting and my Aunt was going on and on about my cousin (her daughter) Julie. Julie was a smoking hot 11 on a scale of 1-10 and apparently Julie had gotten hooked up with a celebrity Country Music crowd.

Anyhow, my Aunt is going on about how Julie got to go on a trip with so n so, backstage to this and that concert, this party, blah, blah blah, all for free.

Good ol Gramps just blurts out " that's because she's a GD whore, you don't get that crap for nothing".

I about died! Gramps just grinned. Aunt Judy was mortified, and Grandma just shouts "Ralph!!!!".

    I miss him.

I am actively looking for a stainless steel (harder to cut) chain (used for boat anchors) and a high security lock that won't rust and can't be easily be cut.

Personally I think you can’t put 100% faith in any antitheft device. At least it’s a deterrent for an opportunist. Same thing as locking your tailgate. They’ll get it if they want it and they are prepared.

Had the tailgate stolen off my GMC 2500 years ago right in my driveway. New used tailgate at the salvage yard and i reversed the hinges so now there is no getting it off unless you plan on wrenching for 30 minutes.

I have always used cable and lock on my spares. Thieves hit neighborhood targeting Fords. They did not get mine but stole spares off every other Ford in neighborhood. I keep tailgate locked. Can be a pain but do not lower it often. Ex use to bitch when I locked hers. She liked to lower it to sit on in driveway. I said you will be bitching more when you don't have on to sit on.
