    I have plywood down on the bed. Im going to eventually do a spray in liner so I'm not too concerned about scratches. Also, it is a truck ;)

    Did it twice, handled great, just leaned a whole bunch. Truck payload rating is 1700. I had full bed of sod and my dad and buddy with me.

    1700? 2017 Tundra Pro CrewMax. More like 1440-1560 lbs. 2000 lbs in the bed plus 3 passengers = 2500+ lbs. Only about 1000 lbs overweight. o_O Way to go. :facepalm:

    Depends on road conditions.

    Usually the things that get damaged first:

    -Rear axle bearings. These are light duty semi floating axles. Weight rides on axle shaft that has a bearing pressed on. This usually doesn’t show up until later on when the axle starts puking gear oil everywhere.
    -Springs can go flat and lose arch. Most have seen this from pictures on here with rear block lifts. The rear spring pack looks wavy.
    -Frame damage. This usually happens when suspension has no more shock load capacity. I can’t remember what Titan XD forum I linked a thread on here, but the guy bent his frame with to much tongue weight from his camper. He hit a pothole and the downforce bent his frame. Nissan covered the frame replacement. He had 1400 lbs in tongue weight.

    Even the factory p metric tires come with a load index 116 if I remember correctly. That means each rear tire can carry 2750 lbs per tire, which is quite a bit more than the load limit of the truck.

    It is their job. But, they should remain in the elastic regime while doing that job. Deflection without any permanent (plastic) deformation. But as others have stated, I imagine that other things might have issues first. There are just too many variables and loading conditions to pinpoint what is going to have problems first. But, my biggest concern is handling of a vehicle when it is loaded beyond the capability of the vehicle. Things act quite a bit differently when loaded beyond original design intent.

    Easy way to tell is if you had a pre-measurement from ground to top of rear wheel well.

    Why do blocks cause the spring to get wavy? Isn’t the axle in relation to the frame the same distance? I would think shackles would cause a premature S wave being that the springs can now reverse arch easier.
