    I actually ran out of gas on a 2018 with the 38 gal tank literally on my drive home from purchasing it.. Why? Because some idiot on here said I had a 10 gallon reserve not 6 after the light comes on. I was dumb enough and exhausted enough from drivng 15 hours to believe him.. Both tanks have 6 gallon reserves.. FYI the truck took 37.7 gallons on fill up so not sure what you're saying..

    side note.. I drove my accord down and then got a Uhaul dolly to tow the accord back with the new truck... Only after sitting for an hour and half waiting for AAA did my dumb ass realize I could just take my car off the hauler and go drive and get gas 5 miles away!!! Thats how dumb and wired I was from driving 30 hours out of 38.. Still ashamed of my stupidity but pretty funny

    I read it was more around an 8 gallon reserve. But everyone’s fuel gauge will be slightly different. I’ve always been tempted to try to see how far I could go. When my fuel light comes on and I fill up. It takes between 19 and 20 gallons. Obviously I have the 26 gallon tank. I would only assume it would have to be a larger margin with a bigger tank. That’s assuming they use the same fuel pump and float sensor. It would have to have more reserve fuel being that the tank is longer.

    Bottom line..............our gauges are accurate. The way Toyota intended.............although it can be a bit of a pain for those owners who like to run their tanks down to true empty which is never a good idea.

    Similar here. The majority of my trips are under 50 miles, so when I get close to 50 mile range left, I fill up so that I never have to run into an issue if I have to make a trip and maybe running late and not have time to fill up. I guess it is whatever works - And I can't see how running on empty can work for anyone.
