Everyone one on this post should be ashamed of themselves! I knew as soon as I saw the thread title that this was a mod thread. :anonymous:

    Did that sound good?

    This!!!!!! Seriously!
Been together with my wife for 19 years, been married 11 of those 19.
Had separate accounts for 14 years and never argued about money more than maybe a handful of times. Then 5 years ago when I gained control of my business I started paying for everything (increase in $$) and opened up like 6 accounts.
She can see 3 of them.
The others - I’m like - sorry! I pay for 90% of our shit and you make a G Damn good living yourself so don’t ever come to me about money. And she doesn’t LOL.
    It works out very well.
Except she wants to fly around the world all the Fing time - and I’m like NO. Sorry. Work harder if you want to vacation to France/Italy/Rome etc. That shit is a waste of money :D
(Although my daughter and her talked me into Hawaii in January - that could have been my supercharger)

my wife has pretty much given up on asking what did you order. she looks at the credit card at least once a week looking for suspicious activity. Funny but she never sees any of that but for me ordering something. she just shakes her head and walks away.

she knows she can buy pretty much anything she wants and I wouldn't say a word.

Been married 32+ years and learned my lesson sometime ago.

I came home from work one day and said "Hey hon, I'm going to go check out this Miata I saw on CL. Wanna come with?" (Wanted it for the hardtop). Pretty much silence. So, of I go, buy the car, bring it home and take what I want and sold it the next weekend coming out $200 ahead. Good deal right? Pretty much silence.

Well, about a year later during an argument she brings up the time I bought a car without getting her input. "I didn't know you wanted a hardtop. Why didn't you tell me you wanted a hardtop for your car? You don't tell me crap!! Blah blah blah".

It still gets brought up when we get into it. Lesson learned.

@4x4_Angel, I know you see this as I do. Funny/ not funny.
Right?! I actually had it in mind for a couple weeks. I know I'm not the only one here that gets cold shoulder when all the boxes show up. I can't believe no one else started this thread. It's a Public Service Announcement. Seriously, we need to help each other out.

Sorry, homie! I've gotten pretty close to a few members on here  (not really.), but no hook-ups.

To be fair, it got everyone in here, and we've had a good time!
Hahaha!! Your wife would be very pleased with your... reserve.... Of course you knew. (It's always truck mods!)

Yeah, this. One of the lead ups to this thread was, I finally admitted I bought another truck... about a week after I bought it. i.e. I'd said I was looking... laid a foundation... but didn't exactly keep the communication updated before I did it. :anonymous:

And this was after MULTIPLE boxes arrived over a 3 week period. So, yeah, I need to slow my roll, or find another shipping address.

Hello, Friend! That's awesome she got a 4Runner! (Post a pic?!!) I'd love to get out with you guys (and your Raptor buddy, if that's your crew!) once I get this new truck ready. Got a rack and RTT we're dialing in, I'm pretty excited to get 'out'.

The whole have separate accounts :

How is that possible when you're supposed to be a team. Maybe I'm wrong but when in a relationship I always feel like what's mine is there's and there's is mine, shared success is much more satisfying then selfish success.

I understand separate accounts and hopefully most can have the financial security to not have to worry about the day to day and have the money for whatever you want individually. But what about those relationships that don't share interests.

I think it just comes down to being like hey this is what I bought and it's not going to put our family in jeopardy. If you don't like what I spend OUR money on then I guess it ain't meant to be.

Girlfriends/boyfriends don't count. As long as you're filing single on your taxes. Your single. Nobody tells you what to do.

Hmmm what is considered “local”:notsure: I always heard these type of arrangements work better in different area codes.

    Also as requested...

This is just my regular driveway. On the other side of that wall is my “NSA” driveway aka the RV driveway.
Clearly I am #known by all delivery services....Ups,UPS Freight, DHL, USPS, Amazon, FedEx...and most importantly Jimmy Johns.

I realize you have like 4 pages of responses... but to attract more attention try “pic for pic”...and don’t forget to voice verify before committing to a possible match.

    Good luck @Sunnier!!!

Disclaimer I am way to tired to read through everything...I’ll do that tomorrow.

Everyone has their own way of doing things. My truck would be way cooler if I did things differently, haha!

My wife and I have a shared account. It works for us. I have been tempted to stash some secret cash for guns/truck parts though!

With that said we have different priorities when it comes to our money. I was always into things with motors/wheels and her, not so much. She likes to travel, me not so much. Although it sucks for each of us at times, we establish our priorities and do our best to meet in the middle and agree on purchases.

I battle with myself at times too. We all have different budgets and ways of living, etc. With "wants" I try to remind myself that our house isn't paid off yet, but yet, tomorrow, next year, next decade-whatever isn't promised.

I get where you are coming from....but I've been burned. that being said....I won't share an account where my paycheck goes into it. I will however share an account where I put money into it that is for household / family stuff

She's simple... or she has simple needs? My other half isn't simple, just needs almost nothing. I admire it. But... I don't quite emulate it. I want travel + Tundrax2 + truck mods + a renovated kitchen + more travel. Good thing I don't mind work!

It’s very possible. My wife is the most amazing woman in the world (in my eyes). I’m super damn lucky, and I have no problem admitting that. She’s an amazing mom, wife, partner, she’s sexy, - all those things you read in a Hallmark card. Even though Megan Fox is hot as hell and my all time cheat; I would never trade her for my wife. And I think as long as you show that, nothing else matters. We’ve always been a team, and money does not dictate how our team operates. Only unless that teams motivation is money. Ours, thankfully, is not. We both have what we want. (Minus her trips to Rome and my R8 V10 Lambo).

I’ve never had a social media account, but my wife always has. I’ve always found it rather interesting that her “quote” or whatever that thing is on FaceBook reads “No amount of money can ever buy happiness”. She never posts what we have achieved - ever. She’s never posted what our home looks like, or the cars we drive. She’s the complete opposite of “braggy”.
I think we both mutually understand that I have put my blood/sweat/tears into my business, and she has not. She hasn’t given “all she’s got” and she hasn’t been paid for it in return. I have.
Therefore - she doesn’t question every purchase.
She does want her “fair shake” though - which consists of more “pleasure” wants - than needs. She knows and trusts that I have our best interest in the long run, so investments and other ways I manage our money; she does not question. In our 20 years I haven’t let her down, yet. I try my hardest every single day to make sure that does not happen.
