I decided to install a wireless charger for my iPhone, similar to what others in this forum have done. The key, in my opinion, is to go with a large charger that has 3 magnetic coils. This increases the range of the charging area in the event that the phone shifts around. I went with the CHOETECH charger purchased on Amazon. With the setup I've done below, my phone charges 95% of the time when it is in the armrest depression. Occasionally it will not charge if the phone ends up in an extreme corner, but that's a reasonable level of tolerance. The wireless charger power wire is a microUSB-to-USB which is plugged into a power inverter under the driver's seat. Also, on the back of the plastic piece for the armrest I glued the charger to the underside after I chiseled out the plastic rivets so that charger could be flush against the back.
