Installed the TRD dual exhaust today. Noticed smoke from the exhaust when stopped at a stop light and a chemical burning smell after driving. Anyone else had a similar “break in” experience?

No, but maybe it's just some protective oil burning off?

That’s normal for new exhausts. I think it’s the components of the new exhaust system reacting to the heat and exhaust. It usually goes away in a few days. Think of it as that new car and exhaust smell:)

Yep, I had it on mine as well. Goes away after a week or so depending on how much you drive. I only drive a couple miles a day so it took a little longer. Make sure you keep the exhaust tips clean as well. Any finger prints/ residue will burn on their for good during this time.

Thanks guys! I figured it was a normal break in but I didn’t see any posts about it anywhere so I figured I would ask.

Installation was really easy/simple. Granted I had access to a lift, it took me about 45 min.

The exhaust is awesome, and sounds better than I had expected. Very happy with it.
Anyone considering it should get it. Can’t beat getting one that matches up perfectly.
