If you ordered parts from a vendor, your invoice shows your correct shipping address and the item gets lost or the packaging gets damaged to the point The courier can't deliver it-

Is the vendor responsible for dealing with the courier and/or sending a new item

    Or-

Should you as the buyer pay for shipping again for an item you paid for and never received despite giving them all the proper info.

Seems like it's the shipping companies issue IF the item was actually shipped. I'd assume the vendor would want to fix the issue with the shipper. No way in hell would I pay shipping again for a new item to be sent. The vendor should reship and take it up with the shipper

I had tracking info. It made it to my hub and I expected it the next day. Then it showed up as undeliverable. I sent the vendor screenshots so they would have all the info I did. AND the vendor is telling me I need to take it up with USPS after I pay for shipping again....

That should definitely be between the shipper and vendor. The one time I had an issue like this, I just had to confirm that I never received the item and the vendor opened a case with the shipper directly.

Simple. The vendor's responsibility. You never had possession...

Exactly my thoughts. I paid the vendor directly the amount they asked for shipping. I didn't pay the postal service. They did. And I don't know that their packaging didn't fall apart and and make it undeliverable. You guys are awesome and this is a respected vendor on here...

If the vendor refuses to correct something like that, then time to contact your credit card company.

I'm hoping they'll come to their senses tomorrow. They say they'll have a clear answer at that point. I've been waiting for this item to arrive so I can install my new ALCAN leaf springs. I don't want to put them on now and then have to buy new u-bolts to do the job again. :annoyed:

I'm trying to do the right thing and give them a chance tomorrow. But you'll probably have a pretty good idea based on the job I'm doing.

I was going to state exactly this.
It's weird they wanna ship you a new item and have you pay for shipping. Was it expensive? I mean even if its not the vendor should be pissed their product was destroyed and its costing them a replacement. They should go after the shipper (hopefully it was insured) for the cost of shipping and the item.
The vendor should handle this. If they don't then shame on them and you should call them out here and social media.

Is a Dispute with PayPal or credit card company and option for you of the vendor doesn't come through?

I'll dispute it with the CC. They're basically got until the next email tomorrow to make it right. I believe them to be respected here and the Tacoma forum. I was pretty shocked to see they were trying to hit me for another shipping fee. It's only $14. But I'm also a man of principal...

I'm not a vendor but I do sell some things via this forum, I had one package damaged and it was likely the fault of USPS (although I have nothing bad to say about them after shipping over a hundred boxes of glass bottles and only one package damaged). I offered to ship a new box to my buyer, who ended up being an awesome guy and saying I didn't need to. My plan was to re-ship, then take it up with USPS, I never even thought to have the buyer cover the cost.

Refund money plus shipping, and ask if they would like to reorder the product again, free shipping.

This would be between the shipper and my company.

I had a set of wheel spacers ordered that never arrived. I checked the tracking information and it said delivered. Weird, since I was home all day, garage door open, etc.
I called the vendor and they emediately shipped another set overnight without even asking.
Come to find out, UPS delivered my wheel spacers to an address two streets away with the same number. The driver swore that he delivered them, but the GPS on his truck said otherwise.

Poly Performance did me right, and we had a long term relationship before and after this issue. Shit happens that’s outside of the customers/vendors hands. It’s how the vendor handles it if I stay with them or not.
