I’d paint the trim. Keep those flares and mud flaps on and paint them too. Lots of taping off, but well worth it. I did my trim in black (the original OEM black was fading to a slight gray). Rustoleum rattle can and blue tape. Get a sand sponge and lightly scuff after tape off. Wipe with a micro fiber and then about three light coats.

If you take off flares there will be holes and scuff marks. Keep us posted.

This is what flares and mud flaps off looks like. The scuff comes off pretty easily, and the holes are annoying but i plan on filling them

Looks good with out em imho. I have local TW members that run body shoos. I'm sure I could get them to fill the holes at a discount.

Better than an open diff and can be used in snow and ice on the street with better turning than a locker. Plus it’s about 1/4 the price of a selectable locker.

the door trim has the same holes, I took it off mine once and hated it. I think our trucks look like they have a bubble for a cab without it.

Ive wondered about the door trim also. Is it held on with double sided tape or are there mounting holes in the doors for it?

I'd hate to pull them off and have holes in the door. AND 2005 paint will look a shade darker under mine i'm thinking

Finally got out to the Ozark NF this past weekend for the Rendevous in the Ozarks Overland Event.

With the truck loaded (not sure the exact weight) it sits pretty level. Maybe a hair higher in the rear. I’m sure over time the Deavers will start to sag a tad anyways.

But so far so good. They hold the weight and the truck handles so much better. Feels like it really helps keep the rear planted.

I would find a matching trim piece and be done. If you paint them it will look odd, the black one has a texture and won't match the painted ones.

There are little white buttons I have seen used to "fill" the holes, doesn't look great but beats holes.

Yep. Oddly enough that is the worst of it. Everything else is rusted, but just surface rust. Obviously this is why the recall exists...

If you wanna stay up to date on the status I have a build thread.

Saw that too. It whats holding the frame together. It falls off and the truck goes to the ground with it.

It’s what is holding the shock in the mount. A nice hack job by the previous owner.

Not true. It’s just holding the shock on the shock mount. The leaf springs actually holds the truck up, the shock simply prevents it from being bouncy.

I wish I had the 2 piece version. I have the older one piece that goes back to the steering rack. Heavy as hell.
