Anyone test drive one? I had one following for several miles headed to hunting ranch on Friday. Pretty sharp except it was,a Laramie and had too much chrome. They have a sport model similar to Tundra with color matched front. I know they have an 8 speed tranny but don't see the tranny alone making up the 5 MPGs with that Hemi. Since they got rid of that hideous front end and grille I might have to consider for next purchase. I got a price on a 2018 Tundra and told dealer I was looking at the Ram. He said when you get done looking we will be waiting.

And replaced it with the current abomination of a front end... :puke: I actually liked the previous gen front end better. The current Ram HD lineup is the best looking truck on the market right now, IMO. But, I fear that they are going to morph toward the new 1500, which is one of the uglier trucks I have seen in recent years.

FCA is strapped for cash, and they make some of the least reliable vehicles on the planet. Spidey sense tells me thar they’re cutting corners to stay profitable. Seriously, look at Fiat’s initial complaint numbers; they’re ree-donk-u-lus. I don’t see how that poor quality doesn’t spill over into Ram (and Jeep), which is why I made a hard pass on a ram 1500 and went with the tundra. Just my .02...

I live almost next door to a Dodge, RAM, FIAT dealership. I was looking to get away from Ford when I bought my Tundra in August and the redesign pushed me further away from even considering RAM. The truck looks like it had a "homosexual" experience and is making a face as a result.

Had a 17 Ram Laramie that I got rid of for my new Tundra. Will admit it got better gas mileage due to the transmission and variable cylinders. That’s where the positives stop. No regrets even after paying a price unloading the RAM too.

Not sure why anyone would want a RAM for a personal vehicle. I could understand for a company vehicle where you’re not paying for it, or paying for it when it’s in the shop. But all the fancy transmissions and gadgets in the world couldn’t get me to pay for one on my own dime, especially with their reputation for falling apart.

I’d be interested in a 2500, but Tundra is the only 1/2 ton in my eyes.

After several months of working it, the final straw that opened the door for my 2018 Tundra was rolling into our campsites and seeing our good friends towing with a new Ram. Long Horn edition or something like that. Fully decked out with more bells and whistles than I would ever use. It was the wife's truck and she traded in her Highlander for it. The sales guy took her to her office parking garage to show her how to use the auto park feature. Twice, it almost smashed into parked cars. Apparently it had a problem with black cars in the shade. The tutorial was aborted and the sales guy told her it needed to go to service.

On the way home, my wife asked a lot of questions about the Tundra and looked up the price on that Ram. With the rebate and some minor repaired hail damage, I bought my Tundra the next week.

    I'll give them some credit...
Their interior is possibly the best in the segment, at least until Ford refreshes theirs. FCA is always at the bottom when it comes to getting warranty work done. With a Ram, you will need warranty repairs performed quite often....

Test drove a 2018 and a 2019 way back in early-April. Ordered my Tundra the next day. The 2019 is better than the 2018, but quality is still sub-Tundra. No deals on the 2019 to be made back then...
