It seems like nobody has any respect for other people's stuff I'm in Indiana with my new truck I try to park where other people don't come. I came out from shopping for 45mins and there's two Dings on the drivers side passenger door. Guess I'm going to have put signs in my side windows don't hit my doors and I won't hit yours not that I would hit them just pissed me off. Sorry for venting just made me mad have 2200 miles on my truck now have to take it to the body shop.

People do suck. We parked ours out and alone, only to be boxed in when we leave. Had to hit the ford who didn't pull up far enough in his spot in order to clear the chevy beside us.

Do you have Dent Wizards or something like that by you? It may be cheaper.

    I feel your pain.
My wife and I both just traded for new cars this past weekend. She got a 2019 Forester Touring. With less than 200 miles on it she went to the store to get the kids some stuff to occupy them while I went through the process of getting my 2019 Tundra Platinum.

She comes back with a scratch and a chip out of the driver side rear door.
The general lack of respect and awareness in society is mind boggling.

I hear you. I am the same way. I park away and I am super careful around other people's vehicles, things, etc.

One day I was in a work truck and I had to park next to another truck. I open the door just enough so I can reach in and grab my bag, with the door basically resting on my butt. Go figure as I am reaching across the back seat a gust of wind came out of nowhere and blew the door open, smoking the Nissan Titan next to me. No dent (if it was a Tundra it would have looked like I t-boned him, our doors dent if you look at them wrong) but it left some light scratches and a bit of paint transfer.

I felt like shit, had to walk in, find out whose truck it was, and walk him outside to show him. I already told him he can get estimates and I will pay, completely my fault, blah blah. He gets to his truck and couldn't find the scratch. He laughed and said I thought it was going to be bad. He didn't care, actually didn't care. I showed up with my buffer, compound, polish, wax, the next day. Made that door look like it just came off the showroom, then even I couldn't even tell it was there.

Sometimes shit happens, but people need to do the right thing!

That sucks, sorry. People seriously DGAF about other people's stuff. Luckily I made it over a year without any dings or scratches. My wife hated me for parking so far away from everything all the time. I did just find my first chip, though... About the size of a pencil tip.

You stole my line. Back in our twenties I was a very young supervisor, my wife always wanted to go out on the weekends to see people. My response was people suck.

I feel your pain. I also had 2000 miles on my truck when the sport utility flung up a stone and put a chip / star in my drivers side window.

With all the rock salt up here you would think they would make all vehicles require mud flaps.

Even after Safelite filled it I can still see it. Frustrating!

Sorry to hear about your dings but dent wizard type companies do really good work. I’m sure they will work out your dents.

    Good luck

Happened to me too. Less than a 100 miles on it and parked at nearby target to run in and grab a few things quick. Parked all the way in the back far away from everything.

And yes ... you guessed it. ..... some ass hit the side with a car so hard it took paint off in two spots

I really don't understand why people feel the need to park right next to other vehicles. I always park at least 10 spaces from the nearest vehicles. Just this past weekend I went into the store for less than 5 minutes to grab something and I came out and 2 pickups had parked on either side of me... I thought I was about to get jumped or something...

I park my cars way far from everybody else and I always see somebody parked next to me when I come out. They're normally on my side too and I gotta do some kinda belly dance move just to get in my car.

The one time I came back to find dents whoever did it didn't stay there. Bastards.

Sorry to hear about your doors man.

I've been seeing that owl cam advertised on TV and might look into it harder just for these types of incidents. Probably wouldn't get the plate so you still couldn't locate the offender but it's an idea.

Definitely feel your pain, I purposely park farther, or if I can't, I line up looking at how the other car's doors arc so that they hit my running boards. Anyone else do that lol?

I've been living with a small single parking dent from someone careless in a higher vehicle, likely another truck or big SUV which I avoid being near now, and wonder if these paintless dent repair places can do the job. It's harder to see because it's well polished and waxed, but my undiagnosed OCD eagle eyes it in certain light ha.

Makes me wanna park like this guy I saw today. Funny part is he looked at my car for a few minutes as if I was in his way. I was the only car in the lot and parked on the end!

Asshole parking job but he won't get dinged.

I parked like that in my Denali 3500 dually and some jackass keyed it and left me a note to learn how to park. Damned if you do Damned if you don't.

I've had great luck with paintless dent repair. My thing is when I park in lots, I notice which way the lot slopes, then look at where cars are parked and look for empty shopping carts. Try to park at the top of the lot if its away from other people. Best thing I've found is to park in the spot on the back side of an island, RIGHT up against the curb, hell even over on the curb/island if its a really narrow spot. Keeps the runaway carts from hitting your car and only one person can park on one side of your rig.

Also there is a Wal-Mart I intentionally don't go to because its nasty, ghetto, and always has errant carts out in the parking lot. Yeah its technically closer than the one the next exit down from me by 5 miles, but just stay on the interstate and its about the same time, that Wal-Mart is immaculate, no errant carts, no crack heads in the parking lots bumming money.

I love when people park and take up two spots. I always try to park my POS work truck right next to them.

I am so sorry- none of us are immune. I bought my Tundra in April. On my BIRTHDAY in early June, with less than 2k miles on the truck, I find a ding that looks like someone hit the side of my bed with a G-Pick hammer- all the way down to metal.

I was SO pissed. Took 2 months to get it into a body shop, and had to pay the deductible.

I do my damndest to stay away from everyone in parking lots.
