Preventing Fender Flare Rub

I know 1st hand of the worn paint caused by fender flares. Question is has anyone found something to prevent this from happening. Pics and advice is appreciated.

Not sure of this is as helpful as Dan's answer, but I do recall someone saying they were going to try using clear paint protection film, like 3M clear bra behind their flares. That may be worth a shot.

 

Yeah I had heard that but trying to see if anyone has actually done it. Been talking with Gear Runner trying to come up with solution. I read in another forum that Bushwacker sells a paint protection kit but I have yet to confirm

 

Use some flexible caulk.

 

He loves the caulk!

But seriously, Flexseal, they make boats out of it.

 

I might just buy some to protect the fender well and say forget the flares.

 

This is what I did. It’s time consuming but well worthed for the protection. I got some clear 3m tape from Amazon and also some cheapo white vinyl wrap to cover all the way down to the wheel well
