I reluctantly ordered some touch up paint for a few rock chips. Has anyone had good results using touch up paint? If so is there a right way and a wrong to use it? I’ve seen aftermath where it almost looks like fingernail polish was used and doesn’t really look any better than scratches or chips.

I fill in my chips with duplicolor super white I think it is. They definitely don’t turn out perfect but it’s better than seeing bare metal or primer. On bigger chips I always prep the area the best I can and then fill it in with the paint. Sometimes it may take a few applications. Since my paint has no clear I don’t add any. But I have added paint till it was slightly high after drying. Then carefully wet sanded the area. Doing it in steps finer and finer. Then polish and wax. I would not suggest this for a beginner.

Chips are tough. Key is to not get new paint on non-chipped area. There are some helpful youtube vids, maybe even from your vendor. You could also consult a local body shop, they may do the work for a fair price.
