Those will look great. If I hadn't scored my TRD wheels, I was planning to go with something very similar to what you're doing.

For guys looking at tires, I can't recommend the Cooper ST Maxx enough. I absolutely love mine. I've done everything from paved highway, to gravel, to sticky muskeg mud to packed ice and snow at -40 Celsius. On everything but ice, they've performed incredibly. I doubt I'll ever put a different tire on any 4x4 I ever own.

Which TRD wheels did you pick? I had the FJ TRD trail teams on my 99 and 03 tacos

I love them. So much better than the Ion Alloy wheels I had before. I do have a 5km/h difference with my speedo though since these are 17" wheels.

285/70/R17 iirc. Bilstein 5100's all around, fronts are set at the 4th notch for 1.6" of lift which brings the truck pretty well dead level.

Went to put on another skid plate and found many reasons to wait on it. Explained in detail in my build thread.

Put on new exhaust today. Cut off all the mess the exhaust shop did when they put 3” duals on and made a 3” single setup so I can add a 2nd fuel tank.

Can't complain. I had a different set of wheels before which I didn't like much. My buddy got these on his Sequoia and I thought they looked a bit like Walker Evan's wheels that I liked. I was jealous. His sequoia got totaled and I got the wheels free. Not sure which backspace they are, I thought 4" but could be 4.5". My 285s do hit frame a bit but that doesn't bother me.

I have really wanted bronze wheels since I got this truck but the first set of wheels I used were too cheap to pass up, flat black Axis Regulators. These were too cheap to pass on as well. A lot of people compliment them.

I’m really surprised your 285s hit your frame I’ve got 285s on 16x8 3.5” backspaced wheels and they don’t rub on my tires or springs.

3.5" is an inch further out. More likely to hit body with that spacing though, 4" is about optimal to run 285.

I dont hit spring or arm but I run Camburg uppers.

Access cab, not really sure how much lift I have anymore. I am going to lower the front actually, at least an inch to alleviate the lower arm angles. Maybe 3"

Fox coilovers and Camburg arms. Do not under any circumstances buy fox coilovers for these trucks.

When Fox came out with this product, part# FOX-880-02-420, I read the description and liked the sound of a few distinct features. Most other coilovers run a 14" spring, Fox used a 16" spring. I figured it has more height without cranking (confirmed) and could probably travel more. I wondered why nobody else went 16" though, Icon/SAW/Camburg all used 14". I emailed and called Fox to ask what kind of R&D was done, what sort of testing was done, they wouldn't say. Nobody else had them at the time so I bought them.

I learned after buying and driving for a few months that the lower spring mount comes into contact with the brake line where it meets the caliper. I was smashing the brake line when the steering is at full lock! A few other guys at Tundra Solutions (old dead forum) got the same problem. I called the tech line, "never heard of that problem, send a picture". Sent, no response. That's a dangerous flaw, I swapped my brake lines to banjo fittings to strengthen them.

The other draw was the reservoir which nobody else had at the time. The mounting location put the hose in the path of the tire at full lock! I was rubbing holes in the hose. Sent that to them as well, no response. I had to modify the hoses and find a better place to put the reservoirs. Others who got these coilovers had the same problem.

So avoid Fox for this vehicle. I know they have a great reputation and that's why I bought, but from my experience they didn't research when building this product and gave no fucks about the safety of their customers. Go Icon or Camburg or SAW or King, forget Fox.

I should have returned them long ago but I wanted to make them work, and I did. I live with that. Long rant over :D

Long rant very much appreciated, especially when it is discussing a review of a product that is very much in the list of possible purchases. Good thing I decided on getting only the best for my truck, so around this time next year or next summer, im gonna pull the trigger on some King coilovers and shocks, along with long travel arms

I’ll check tomorrow with my mechanics and get back with you. The front rotor and pad set up is phenomenal compared to the old warped OEM’s. They are regular rotors (not slotted/dimpled). They seem ‘bigger’ when looking through the wheels.

Let me confirm with the sales guy. This are what he recco’d because he had them on his truck. They stop on a dime.

Had this similiar cap on my 87’. They are very nice. Dings easily, buy highly useful for storage. Only disadvantage is hauling loads and not being able to climb in bed while standing.

Well theres the pre 03 to post 04 caliper upgrade, that's just buying 13WL or 13WG rotors and pads anywhere, those fit 16" wheels.

If you mean the real big brake kit with the 4 piston calipers, that's for 17" wheels only. That's why I never went for it. You can see them pop up for sale here and there used but I think auto anything carts it, I haven't seen it for less than $1500.
