Hi guys this is herchi79 I just recently bought a tundra 18 1794 ed. Great trucks these tundras by the way. I am new to this forum and new to the TUNDRAS world, first time buyer.
I would like to level my truck adding 2 inches in front only, but many have recommended to do 3’’ front — 2’’ back because they say that’s what tipically new tundras have in order to fully level the truck. I have seen several threads of discussion here but haven’t found any that makes me take a decision. I am open to do 3’’ front 2’’ back, but no more than that. I just want to know if that’s the best option or the installer only wants to sells me an expensier product ? I also want to maintain the factory quality ride, and add 275/55/20 all-terrain tires, probably 285//60/20, but not tires bigger than that. What ever option I choose one thing is certain, the best clearance I can have below the truck the best, because I go too often to the beach. Thanks :)

I’ll lurk, as leveling and tires are in my future as well- still reading every opinion I can find.

    Welcome to the party!!

Dont use blocks and spacers, invest in coilovers that will lift. Bilstein, 5100s or 6112s or a Toytec kit. Plenty of lifting options, should be able to get a pretty nice setup for a decent price that wont break the bank.

Welcome from Salt Lake City! I’m on a same boat as you. I’m looking into the toytech boss 3/1 lift kits with SPC UCA’s. I have heard good things about it. I’ll probably have it done next month. I’ll let you Know after.

Hello Herschi79, Here is what I would do and have gone through this process in depth!! If you want to save money go with the billi 5100's. If you want to go beyond a non rebuildable shock which is the next step up DO NOT BUY the billi 6112's they are rebuildable however they have to be sent via freight shipping to the factory to do so at your expense. The ICON front coils don't cost much more then the billi's and can be rebuilt by most any offroad shop in a day for around $150 bucks, additionally they do not require UCA's to perform as they should. (I called ICON directly to discuss this at length) The ICON's also have an 1/2 longer stroke length then any other manufacturer. If you want to go further add the Zone HD UCA's as the are a sealed greasable ball joint that can be replaced easily. Last but not least and most important IMO, 4x4 trucks are not racecars remove and get rid of your front seat bar you'll be totally amazed at the difference! (Just don't go racing around corners at 80 mph) if you obey the recommended corner speed signs you wont even notice the difference on road.)

Standard lifts are usually referred to as a 3/1. 3” up front and 1” rear. I chose the Old Man Emu BP51 route with 295/70/18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Not the cheapest lift, but one of the best suspensions around. I used a ToyTec 1” block in the back instead of the OME leaf pack. I’m very happy with the results.

I agree with my fellow PNW member Wild Trout, However, other than the OME greasable rear shackle kit I have zero experience with thier stuff. WildTrout are they rebuildable? I know they make great stuff but that was a big requirement for me.

Had 5100’s (middle setting) done on the fronts for my 2014 and again a few months ago for my 18 sport. Levels it and keeps the factory ride.

Hello all. What lift kits do you guys prefer? Icon and boss (ToyTec)? I’m mainly on the road and I just wants something nice and reliable and comfortable as well. Thanks for the input!

It's the Westin Outlaw front bumper I fabricated a fill plate to go where the bar LED light would go and just put the two small square ones I don't need all that Hokie desert runner b******* on the front of my truck

NP here you go, My thought was to eventually add a wench bracket in side the bumper there is a huge amount of open space in there. This way it will be hidden except for the roller protruding out of the splash guard.

All I am almost finished with the airbag bracket set for use with the daystar cradles. I relocated everything over the axles so I can still use the factory bump stops and suck the airbags up and out of the way when not needed with a vacuum pump.

Okay I have been on here a couple months now and fall into the same boat as Herchi79. So I initially bought a Readylift 2.4" spacer lift for the front, but didn't install. Then I got a great deal on a procomp 3/1 which i bought, but didn't install. AND NOW......I have decided to go with Bilsteins 5100's all the way around. In fact my rears showed up today. Going to do the fronts on the middle setting with a single CB shim up front on each side as to not bind the spring too much. I have 275/55/20 tires now, but going to buy 275/60/20's as this is an exact 33" tire. I do 90% on road and around town and highway, then some fire roads, jeep roads and ski area stuff, so nothing crazy. Might venture more into the mountains later and the lake, but this will accomplish it all, not break the bank and hopefully look pretty good. I have a Limited Platinum edition, which looks similar to yours. Hope this helps as it has been a process. Get the new shocks up front on 2nd or 3rd setting, some tires and call it good.
