i want to replace the plastic oil filter cap on my 2015 Tundra. I saw the billet filter cap made by Jowett Performance, just wondering if any member has it on their truck, any issues with it, likes/dislikes? tia

I’m assuming this is the oil filler cap and not the oil filter cap?

No Tundra logo because it fits a bunch of different Toyota applications. Retail is 41.25. PM for Tundras.com pricing.

I replaced my wife's plastic filter with the aluminum Toyota one since the dealership tightened the drain cap so tight it wouldn't come off with a 3 foot cheater bar. I only chose the aluminum one because it was cheaper than plastic. That was the first oil change I did since it was purchased used. But besides that I don't see any reason to go swapping out parts that are working fine.

If I remember correctly, the LC200's are aluminum from the factory and cross over as well.

I also put the aluminum Toyota one on. I almost broke my plastic one trying to get it off for my first oil change. No chance the aluminum one is going snap a tooth off, especially when torqued correctly. Worth it for the piece of mind.

You would have to really over torque it or use an improper tool to break something. I guess I can see a low wage tech doing this but I assume most here are doing their own changes.

I had the plastic filter from my wife's Lexus with the correct tool on it in a vice and a long cheater bar on the cap and couldn't get the cap off. I only wanted to save the cap since I knew I'd probably have to buy a new canister anyway. But with all that torque the plastic still didn't crack or break anywhere.

If I was letting someone else do my oil changes I might rather have the plastic canister so when they over torque it they break a $20 part and not the receiving threads on the pan.
