So I just hit my 500 mile break in for the new gears. The shop that did the work said fuck it no need to change the gear oil out, yet nitro say you should. So I called them to schedule it and they can’t fit me in for another two weeks. So I ordered the nitro 80-140 synthetic and am going to bring it to my normal mechanic to have it done there hopefully next week. And major risk or problem with adding another 250 miles to the gears while I wait?

I was rather frustrated they couldn’t get me in for another two weeks, they can’t spare 30 minutes to change my gear oil after all the money I just dumped into their business... so fuck em. I was gonna have them do my undercoating to (krown) but now I may just bring it to the place that did my bullet liner.

If your able to do some towing before the change, you might be able to break them in more. After a few tow trips on mine, the gears felt smoother.

Not sure about the hop. Best way I can describe it is after a few hundred miles of the gear install the truck felt smoother. After the 500 mile fluid change, I started to tow and after few trips the acceleration felt even more smooth.

Ya I’m horrible at explaining ‘symptoms’ not sure how I’d discribe what I feel could just be the way the truck down shifts sometimes.

I did however just take it out on the highway for the first time and noticed a slight whine from 50/55 to about 65 got progressively louder but could only hear it with window up and radio off. If I let off the accelerator it would go a way slightly not as loud. Then at about 69-72 it was back louder but went away and didn’t hear anything up to 95, at which point it felt like the truck was stiffening almost and didn’t want to go any faster. Assuming with bigger tires and gears that that’s when governor wanted to kick in?
