General Grabber (Red letter) - Anyone using them?

Anyone using General Grabber red letter?

Feedback?

Looking to upgrade my 33’s for 35’s. Seems like general grabber’s are my cheapest decent option.

About $900 installed from America’s tire.

 

iirc they are pretty rough when driving on freeway.
have you checked into FALKEN tires ? not much more and better all around reviews.

 

That’s what I read too, but described them like normal M/T.

Yeah Falken m/t is ideally what I’m looking for, but about $1200 installed.

 

Have you searched Discount Tire Online? And, a 305 70 18 is an option. The 305 is taller (34.8) than some of the 35s I looked at

 

@Wikid runs them or has run them. I remember seeing pictures of his truck with Grabbers.

BTW @captain_bij According to the America's tire website for my area, it looks like the black sidewall is $195 and the red sidewall is more expensive.

 

Yeah I checked it out.. seems like the best deal other than the generals are Falken m/t $270 a piece.

Not many options for 305 unless looking for an a/t, which I wouldn’t mind, but still right around the same

 

Good to know. I thought they were more expensive, that’s probably where the discrepancy in price is.

 

I usually jump into every thread about Generals just to say "don't".

Their warranty is great until you file a claim.

 

when it comes to tires and performance, it might be worth shelling $300 more and be happy for the next 4 years.

 

I got my Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws in 315/70r17 for $204 a tire off discount tire direct. $40 cheaper per tire than discount tire quoted me in-store. Then I took them there anyway and they charged me less to mount them than if I would’ve bought from them in store... weird.
I believe they’re 34.6” IIRC

 

also costco has great prices. I think I got quoted $1080 total for four 35" BFG K02 mounted and balanced. Came with Nitrogen and costco warranty too.

 

My costco won't install anything that is 3% larger than OEM. They'll mount 'em for me but won't touch the truck. My costco also can't balance a 35" tire, they don't have the equipment.

 

I had a tire shop tell me they wouldn’t install 35s because it’s “too dangerous “ to have tires that size on a Tundra

 

Wow that’s really good. Just checked Costco, sams, Walmart. All more expensive and it’s virtually impossible to be patient with this forum, but I guess I’ll wait till a deal pops up.

 

yeah that's the thing with Costco sometimes, liability. they did mount my full size spare with nitrogen for $14 though.can't beat that.
