    Some people like fancy-schmancy stuff. Others don't. If someone likes all that fancy-schmancy stuff and didn't get it, either spend the cash to upgrade what you have or next time buy the higher trim package.

    Most vehicles are in fact outdated in just a few short years. We can’t keep a vehicle for 20 years and expect to even be close in features. My 07’ Lexus IS350 doesn’t even have Bluetooth lol. I would say this though, I enjoy that car everyday more so than most vehicles I’ve owned.

    I know I’m going to regret this, but hells bells. The Raptor is in a leage all by itself. It’s like the Orca of pickup trucks. One also has to live this that Orca. I’ve stated many time that they are bad ass and I have a few friends that own them. They don’t DD them for long due to inconvenience and just flat out costs you in fuel. Again, we can’t compare a Raptor to anything else offered as a production vehicle rival.

    I agree, you want reliability. Tell you what, I challenge you to this little game I like to play when driving. Over the next 30 days, or whatever, count how many Tundras of any generation are on flatbeds. Take a picture if it’s safe to do so or just PM me. I’ll believe you. I think maybe I have seen one locally and maybe two off this site.

    As far as the Pro goes, go buy one. You’re not going to regret it, install an ARB rear locker for the fun stuff. Go do what a Pro is designed to do, and overall that goal is to be a kick ass all around truck you can live with everyday.

    On the raptor forums and Facebook groups. (Well actually I left the Facebook groups because of all the douchebaggery, I couldn’t take it anymore) the forum isn’t bad. Raptors spit problems everywhere.

    It wouldn’t fit my need as a “20 year truck”. I only want it, well because it’s bad ass.

    But I agree whole heartedly. I’m in it for the Tundra. It doesn’t have all what I want in my truck. But it does give me one thing. Peace of mind. And it’s not too shabby. Oh and it’s a Toyota. Keep on the lookout for my mods. If I get a 2019 it’s a black pro and what I’ve picked out for it is a really nice setup.

    I definitely agree with you but there are some things that Toyota should put in their cars.

    Android auto/apple car play is one thing I really feel like they missed the mark on.

    Also, their own navigation program is pretty terrible on route guidance. Nowadays, auto makers need to let the tech guys handle this and work with them. Also, entune is by far the worst infotainment system on the market. Nissan's (had one as a rental car) blows it out of the water and it's pretty bad.

    The gas mileage (while I'm not one to whine about mileage), SHOULD, be better. It's 2018. There's no reason for it to not have gotten better. Especially with a motor that's been out for over a decade and has seen no improvements on quality, performance, or efficiency.

    I loved my tundra. I did. I thought it was great. Didn't have any issues with it but it's far from perfect and I do think many of the things customers want out if their trucks is reasonable.

    I personally do not think Toyota makes a bad truck. I just think they could make a better one. I also understand that some people like it simple, and there is nothing wrong with that but for most of the new truck buyers thrse days, they do want more tech.

    Maybe in the great state of Oregon, GM needed to unload excess inventory. I’m just going to say I believe you since I wasn’t there and you wouldn’t lie to me right?

    I’m sure you know I own a 1 ton GMC SLT. These have way more options (and price tag I might add) than a GMC 1500 SLT. But here we go again, comparing an apple to the orange. However, my boss just went through buying his current truck. He came to work with a High Country 1500 with the 6.2L. He told me the Denali and High Country were the only trim levels that offer the 6.2. Nice truck, but I told him he screwed up. We hooked our company trailer to it and loaded it, then tested it.

    He is a proud owner of a 2015.5’ Denali 2500 diesel.

    Back to your link. Fastest color, slowest motor 5.3L, and again, should be competing with the platinum. I agree the Toyota May cost more after GM discounts the truck like crazy. Toyota doesn’t do that. I played hell just finding my Tundra....they just sold so fast.
    The SLT premium does have the Bose stereo, but only that option. Most SLTs do not. Does the GM 1500 still have drum brakes? Lol. I’m sure they went back to disc.

    I still don’t think this is an apples to apples comparison due to drivetrain. We really need to get the 6.2L into the mix.

    That's a 5.3L Matt, not a 6.2L with the 8 speed. Do you still feel the same knowing its a 5.3L?

    Love my 2016 PRO, but I will not buy another truck without a rear locker. Lockers are not high tech gadgets. They are tried and true and necessary on a 4x4. Period. Are you listening Toyota?

    Also ball coolers and a decent stereo and nav system would be nice options. Our 15 yo Nissan had better nav than my PRO.

    Lockers "necessary" on a 4X4? Really? I would say "nice to have", but far from necessary. How many times have you had your 4X4 pickup truck stuck because you didn't have a locker? For myself, that number is zero. Heck, I got stuck way more often with the vehicles that I had front and rear lockers on - because those were trail rigs (not my trucks) that I took places to intentionally push the envelope. I don't do that with my big trucks.

    Look, here's the deal gents. Just cause you don't "need" it doesn't mean others shouldn't want it. Options are nice. Tech is good. Nothing wrong with "changing" with the times. That is all.

    Well I look at LSD/lockers this way, when my tundra is in 4wd, I'm powering 2 wheels, the same as a 2wd with LSD.
