I went from an '11 to a '16 and that feature bothered me at first. The reclining seats were nice but I also got tired of putting them back to where they should be all the time because no one would ever adjust them back.

I haven't really ridden in the back for long on my '16 but the back seats are pretty comfortable. There is a decent amount of recline in them so it's not unbearable. Sitting back to back with a new F-150 the F-150's rear seats are much more straight which is why it has more leg room but I found it far less comfortable. It's like sitting on a bench. I've had several people ride in the back of my truck for 8 hours and they said it was the most comfortable vehicle they had ever been in.

One of the things I do being 6'2 is every vehicle I buy before I buy it I put the seat where I would have it and get in the back. I want to make sure the person behind me has ample room so I don't have to move my seat all the time so someone can ride back there. That's what's great about the Tundra. I don't have to move it at all and there is still a TON of room in the back.

I traded in my 2012 Tundra for a 2018 last November. Up to this day my kids 10 and 15yrs will not stop telling me hear now much they miss the 2012 Tundra. We live in Texas and many trips to Corpus Christi and S. Padre Island. Two weeks ago we drove to Destin, Fl and they really let me know how much they miss the sliding reclining rear seats. I knew it would be a difference in comfort but I didn't think it would be to the point where at times I regret the purchase. Don't get me wrong I love my truck but I really want my kids and passengers to be comfortable. I wish the rear seats could be altered with the sliding/reclining seats.

Why not just buy the sliding/reclining seats and do a mod....

It's all relative. If the kids were used to the old truck they might miss it, but any other passengers who were not familiar with your old truck will think the new one is awesome. We recently did a 3,000 mile road trip and my son (6'4") and daughter (5'-10") never complained about not having enough room, or not being able to recline.
