I can kind of confirm. I've never noticed too much difference off the line with tow/haul mode off or on. My 13 will roast the tires either way

Not totally related to the OP's original topic but.... I told my buddy about the "beast mode" setting. That old fart is out there trying to race every Ram/Ford/Chevy he comes across. I finally got through the 1K break in period and WOW! I couldn't believe the difference. It's crazy to think the truck is tuned down that much for normal driving.

Apparently the Pedal Commander can do what the tow mode does, but is more adjustable so it is not as jumpy. More response that tow mode without the jumpiness I guess. Anyone on here has it?

I hear DAP is good for that too.

It's not that the truck is tuned down, it's just that the VSC is set to trim, cut or apply power to mitigate wheel spin and/or slipping that might cause you to get sideways.
As an effect of that power trimming/limiting, the truck often feels slower to shift in normal driving conditions (with the nannies on).
When you turn all that off, it's letting the truck be free to do what it can...in dry conditions of course.
I absolutely would not recommend doing this when it's wet or icy.

The DAP tune actually adjusts some of the shift points, on the lower and upper ends.
As an example; With the nannies off and beast mode engaged, I still cruise around 2K RPM at 70-80 mph. I believe the DAP tune brings that down to around 1700-1800.

Put it also in 4x4 high and see how it would sound with the tow mode on.

Well, in my experience the truck gets louder. Must be the gears and even a bit of exhaust.

Save the money for gears, running bigger tires on stock gears will eventually wear out something faster as you are pushing more weight with smaller components meant for a smaller tire. But............ then there are always conflicting stories where people will Im sure chime in " I have 37's or 35's on stock gears and everythings fine", but I would do gears just to be on the safe side. Do a full race exhaust system from dirty deeds before messing with the computer systems (tuner), gives more hp and torque cheaper than a supercharger but provides way more numbers than any tuner.
