For me I do an Edmund price check or true car send out to 5-10 dealerships, and take the lowest price to my nearest dealership to match. But make sure to forward them this before I hit the dealer and agreed.

I did the trucar thing, but in the end I ended up buying a certified 1794 with 13k on it myself hunting down. Best quote form a trucar dealer was $36.5K I believe for a TRD off road SR5 brand new, but it was sitting in their lot for awhile. Got my 1794 for $38k. I chose the better for a tad bit more money.

 

Try to find invoice price and dealer hold back/rebate information for the EXACT vehicle. Then play ball and go from there.
