Sadly i have noticed my "electric blue(?)" paint does seem to show light scratches much more than my previous vehicles colors.

That said, my other rides didnt have as vibrant a color. I dont think my truck actually scratches easier, they just stand out more cause the paint is just nicer. The color on my old 07 still looks great, though. Im rough on my trucks too so it is what it is.

I would manage to have scratch up what ever it was i might have been driving. Some paints just dont show it as much.

You are complaining about a cooler scratching the bed of the truck that is not protected. What did you expect the paint to be scratch proof? Coolers are set on concrete and grains of sand bed in the plastic. Its no different to 60 grit sandpaper.

I have 80000 miles on my 2008 Tundra in the Florida sun and it still looks brand new. It gets a spray wax every two weeks after its cleaned.

My green '13 has spent it's entire life outside in the Nevada sun with duststorms and the like, and I have zero complaints about how well the paint has held up. I waxed it once when it was new and never since.

Seems very soft I already have deep paint chip around all my wheel wells. Looks like touch up paint is in order. Truck only one year old.

Try clay barring the contaminants off. I use black pigmented polish and wax which fills in all the swirls and scratches, I then add another coat of Collinite 845 insulator wax.

I pulled my factory bedliner out and covered it with laminate floor padding.Bed was not scratched up to bad so I touched up any scratches with dupli color spray paint and re-installed the bedliner.I used some 3M tape to secure the bedliner at the tailgate and have had no problems.Cheap fix until I get a spray in bed liner. Also bought a Toyota rubber mat off ebay to keep things from sliding around.

3” lift, black step bars, aftermarket wheels, LT305/55R20 was this way when I brought it.
You said the blue tundra has losts of stains on the paint and sounds like it was never taken care of, but your 1992 Lexus has really good paint was it taken care of and maybe kept indoors makes a big difference

Maybe so. I just think it was the quality of that OEM paint on that 1992 Lexus that really blew me away. When I bought it in 2012, it had 60k miles, always garaged, never driven in winter, it was freshly detailed, I think the guy I bought it from might have buffed on it a bit, but god damn that thing would blind you in direct sunlight. I've never had a car with that nice of a paint job on it, not before or since that car. It color shifted depending on light, and had a bit of sparkle in the white.

I've looked at a 100% correct 1961 white Cadillac Coupe Deville, concourse type restoration car that didn't have as nice of a paint job as that Lexus(granted it was perfect unlike my driver lexus in terms of flaws) Now granted it was a super pure white, 10 stages of clear coat, looked awesome, but it didn't have that depth and sparkle like that pearl white on my Lexus.

I'm just saying the navy blue paint on my 2011 Tundra with similar mileage doesn't measure up to that Lexus paint job, despite the truck being 19 years newer. It still looks good, but you really look at it and you can see the flaws, unlike the paint on that Lexus, it kind of blew your mind how nice the finish was on that car, especially when you looked at it up close.

Our 4y older Lexus has a poorer finish than our Tundra. I’ve clayed, polished and waxed both. Previous owner on the Lexus did not take good care. However it could be even older Lexus’ had superior paint jobs to recent ones, no idea.
