I’ve been eyeing second gen tundras for years now and it seems like my dreams are becoming a reality.

I’m from just outside of Nashville. I’ll get my CPA license here in a couple months and I work downtown as an accountant. Just started duck hunting last year and I freaking love it. My wife is carrying our first little girl and she’ll be here this fall. So, with some cash we made off our first home we just sold, I’m making my last selfish purchase before my world revolves around my girl.

My buddy is helping me find a 2010 tundra crewmax, limited, 4WD, about 100k miles. I drive around 30 miles round trip to work everyday so I’m not too interested in any crazy mods. The only things I’ve considered thus far are new wheels/tires, leveling, bed liner, and HU. I’ve been trying to browse these forums for a while trying to find guidance on these subjects. So, if anyone has any advice or can point me to any threads, that’d be awesome!

Wheels/tires: As I said, I’ll be doing a lot of highway driving. But over the summer and through the winter, I do some hunting and traveling on land that I’ll benefit from AT tires. Any specific recommendations and things to consider as far as wheel/tire setups?

Leveling: I don’t necessarily want a large lift, but definitely want to level it. One thing I’m not sure about is what kind of effect leveling has on hauling and towing (trailer, camper, boat, etc.). Any specific types of kits to look into or factors to consider if I’m going to be hauling?

Bed Liner: Best one out there?

HU: Got an iPhone so something with carplay. Any specific recommendations?

As I said before, if you can point me to other threads to find advice on any of these areas that’d be awesome. Overarching question now… how easy is a leveling kit/head unit to install? I’ve never worked on my own vehicles too much but mainly because I never grew up with someone to teach me. Now that I’m about to bring a little one into this world, I wanna learn as much as I can and figure out how to do things myself.

Thanks in advance to any help anyone offers. Look forward to getting to know everyone and their tundras! And I'll be sure to post a pic of my truck as soon as it's in my hands.

EDIT: Finally for my hands on a truck! Got one I could afford to pay with cash and not tie myself up with payments. See post below for pic

Welcome from CO! A very good all around tire is the Cooper ST Maxx.
You probably get in and out of your bed a lot during waterfowl hunting so you may want to consider a BedRug liner. All purpose and easy on the knees.
Level? Spacers are the cheap way but ToyTec Eibach front coil over replacement set are very reasonable.
    HU?....can't help...still using my crap 2007 one.

There she is! Pretty much untouched 2005 Toyota Tundra limited double cab. 108,000 miles on it. Getting the timing belt changed but other than that, the interior is perfect and I can't wait to drive it for forever and let the upgrades begin!
