Pressure wash it and see what happens. Could very well be rust washed into the corners from something hauled in the bed. Doubt you get anywhere with any warranty claim - I think I remember reading in my paperwork that the rust warranty only covers full perforations (rust all the way through).

I used a pressure washer, it just removed the loose rust.

Does it have a spray in liner? Hard to tell but it looks like it. How could it rust so badly with a liner? Is it a flood truck??

What does it look like under the bed? I'm betting it's just stained.

I'd say the spray on was done diy by previous owner. They sprayed over the bed bolts. Probably was prepared incorrectly

I beg to differ, the word "Tundra" is embedded in the bed liner this is only done by the factory during the order process by Toyota. From the looks of it,
the color of the bed liner bolts looks a shade off which tell me the owner may have used a spray can to cover those bolts also the bolts on the tailgate isn't sprayed on.

On a basically brand new truck rusting under the factory spray bedliner... hmm Any more rust under the truck or anywhere else? Did the truck sit under water? If they say its just stained then take a wire brush to it and see what happens.

Could be stained rust from a tool box. Sucks Eddy didn’t try more to remove the rust before selling.

Best idea yet. I really don’t think that much rust would come through the bedliner.

It’s not a flood truck, it’s a factory bedliner. The truck was sold new at this dealer, traded back in and set on the lot in Wichita for months. My guess is the OEM did a poor job applying the bedliner....which they have yet to warranty. The underneath looks new. No tool boxes were on it. I’m the second owner, it had 1000 miles when I bought it.....that’s 4000 miles ago.....about 6 weeks now.

I don’t think that’s rust if you blew it off with a pressure washer....

could it be something acidic like a leaky battery that was transported in the bed? hard to imagine a 1 y.o truck rusting with only 1,000 miles and through the bed liner.

If its a simple stain why wont the dealer just clean it?..Or you just clean it and be done with it?...Or is there nothing that removes rust stains?

I'm going to say either the prior owner or the dealership transported something metal and there was some shavings or something left in the bed. You said it was sitting for months. I'm sure it rained a few times to make the stuff rust and stain the bed.
Like everyone else has said try powerwashing it, hopefully the stain will come out.

Only had 1000 miles on it?
If it was just rust from something that was left back there it should of come off when the dealer washed it, but it didn't. Kinda weird being dealerships are the kings of concealing stuff.

Thats a tough call to be honest. Do spray on bed liners stain?
