So, I have looked and read thousand of feeds -- I laughed at quite a few of them as well.

What is ( really ) a TSS Off-Road Package? I have one and see a ton of them here in Austin, but they all look different. Since I purchased my Tundra used, what makes a Tundra a TSS Off-Road Package?I do apologize if it's a routine question and if it's answered already.

It's a regional thing. Southeast toyota region I believe.

Its just a local region custom package. Here in the southeast there used to be a Darrell Waltrip edition tundra.

Only available in the Gulf States Region according to a rep from Toyota. Not sure what states that entails, but they have them at the dealerships here in OK.

When I was purchasing my tundra TSS Off-Road, I got the chance to also look at the TRD Off-Road, they were almost the same, the TRD came with the upgraded shocks, no nav, less aggressive tires, and no bed lights, the TSS had stock shocks, but had the nav system, bed lights, and more aggressive tires. The price on both was identical. I can't recall much more differences... I thought that shocks are trivial as they can be easily installed, unlike that built in nav... So TSS I went. The TRD ride was waaaaay smoother though...

I guess the best thing to do is to call a dealer and test drive both TSS and TRD Off-Road, then compare and contrast side by side. They are super similar.

One of the easiest ways to find out is take your vin number to dealer and ask for invoice print out , and it will tell you exactly what your truck came with. I did that with my 2013 and it really helped me see all the features ,stock , and ordered, hope this helps.

TSS is unique to the GST region. its a regional port installed aftermarket items. there is no official Toyota usa opton code for these items/packages/options. if you goto www.toyota.com there will be no mention of this package. you have to goto the website that is specific to either GST (https://www.buyatoyota.com/gst/inve...018&sortorder=ASC&msrp[0]=30845&msrp[1]=55295) or SET. they operate outside of Toyota USA rules.

edit : when you get to this page, expand the options list and you can select the different TSS packages.

also remember don't confuse Toyota Safety Sense system (TSS) with GST TSS option/packages.

most of the TSS packages are a lipstick on a pig pacakges (they are usually a base SR5 with added tires/wheels and other bling items) with a huge markup in price compared to if you picked up those items yourself.

edit 2 : since they replace the oem wheels and tires and still charge you markup price on new wheels tires, they profit from you twice.

oem wheels/tires they resell at full price and charge you full price for the TSS wheels/tires.

Thanks for all the replies. I actually contacted my dealer and they emailed me the original items for this vehicle. I wish it still had the black wheels, but I can get them. Thanks for all the help!
