    Good morning Bryan!

    Good morning Mike!

Yes! We had a good visit the first part of the week. They left Tuesday and my wife flew out Wednesday afternoon for a conference so it was just me and the 3 little ones (7moG, 2.5yrB, 5yrB). It was smooth going for the most part.

The usual routine is they wake up around 7am, and the boys get chocolate milk and some iPad time. Shortly after it’s breakfast time. Girl goes down for nap1 around 10am, boys go down around noon and she gets up. Boys get up around 2 and she goes down. Lunch time. She gets up around 4, then to bed around 8pm. She sleeps through the night which is nice :)

2yo is mostly potty trained but still has issues missing and getting his pants back up and wiping. He also has a tendancy to play in the bathroom sink - getting toothpaste all over or water all over the floor so we’ve got to keep a close eye on him when he’s in there. It was only a slight challenge with the baby given the overlapping nap schedule and the evening help I had.

Obviously we were home bound for most of the day lol We played with cars and trains and chased each other around the house, also did some light cleaning (laundry, dishes, sweep & vacuum) :) In the evening I invited some of my wife’s family over for BBQ or pizza, which gave the boys some cousins to play with. They usually go to bed around 9pm, but got to stay up to midnight half of the nights. Let’s just say bed time wasn’t much of a fight especially on those days LOL

The kids were good for the most part. Sometimes bed time is a fight, and my oldest doesn’t want to nap, but he’s extra irritable in the evening if he doesn’t take one. Usually they want us to sit with them or lay down with them until they go to sleep. The 5yo can usually be reasoned with but the 2yo much less so. That wasn’t really the case this week. I let them know I couldn’t lay down with them because I had to check on little sister and they were very understanding.

I oringally hated that my wife would lay down with our 5yo when he was 2-3 (I feared codependence), but am much more understanding of it now as it keeps them in their beds. My first son would often end up in bed with us during the night. My 2yo still does occasionally, but it’s far from the norm - not even once a month at this point.

Everything went so well I offered to quit my job to hang out with the boys all day, wife was doubtful it would work lol

Wife got home after midnight early Monday morning. Got the yard mowed last night (overdue). Hoping to get the truck washed tonight as well as plastidip my bumper chrome parts at some point this week, but we’ll see how that goes...

I really like what I do, but sometimes it's not all sunshine and rainbows. Occasionally someone farts in the breeze and screws it all up.

    lol - I get that.
The mountains wouldn't exist without the valleys - need some fart in the breeze to remember to appreciate when the stench isn't in the air :D

Saw a sign in a gas station this morning that made me think.
" Life is not a journey to the grave with the intentions of arriving safely in a pretty well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming....Wow! What a ride!"
