I purchased a used 2013 rock warrior with 55K miles on it. The previous owner leveled the front end with Bilstein shocks.

I really like the truck other than the ride quality is terrible. Reminds me of my 1 ton duramax diesel. If I cannot do something to correct it I'm going to get rid of it.

Any thoughts on what I can do to smooth this thing out. I spend a lot of time in the woods on rough roads with washboard and potholes. I'm not looking to baja at 100 mph just get out to my deer blind in comfort.

I've also notice it is awful in the snow. I think its directly related to how stiff the suspension is. My old d-max was the same way.

Do you have silver or yellow/blue bilsteins?

If silver you can remove some lift (preload) which will provide a better ride. Or you can upgrade to a progressive valved shock as I believe the bilsteins run digressive valving.

I am still on stock 2013 RW suspension so I can't help, but what tires are you running. The BFG KOs that came on the truck were terrible in any snow. I replaced with Toyo Open Country A/T and at least now I do not have to put it 4 wheel drive at every stop sign.

I'm not sure what color the shocks are as they are currently rust colored. salty roads. they have a silver sticker on them with blue writing if that's of any help. i do have the original box. i will look when i get home to see for sure.

truck came with two sets of wheels and tires. the ones that were on in the winter were cooper snow tires. appeared to have lots of life left in them

has anyone put a toytec coil kit on these? would that help?

I wanted a stiffer ride on my tundra so I added a front trd sway bar and Old Man Emu rear shocks, which are a stiffer shock for the tundra. It improved it greatly for me. If you want less stiffness and more sway/body roll to give a softer type feel of ride you can try removing the rear trd sway bar if it is stock on your rock warrior. Also bilstein I believe are the softer type shock for the tundra. I would also ask a shop and maybe one that specializes in Toyota off road suspension and tell them what you'd want and probably get it installed and not have to worry anymore. Easiest solution

I have the Toytech Boss up front and Bilstein 5100 with shackles in rear. I got new RG’s about the same time. Much better now over all bumps. Still not perfect, but it is a truck. Good luck. D9F9F8830-8927-441D-AD8A-DBEE5DC374F5.jpg
