Have been lurking for months and finally picked up a new 2018 Tundra SR5 DC in Cement. Bought it less than a week and have installed tint and bedliner. Currently waiting for running boards and LED headlights. Looking for the best way to dechrome the grill surround. 20180731_191130.jpg.

Welcome from San Diego. Buy a 17 Pro grille and surround already painted in cement and swap the inserts. @Roman is the local parts guy here and has plenty of parts threads to help you order the right stuff. Search for “ultimate parts thread”. You can also check out sparksparts.com for another resource.

    Welcome!!

You live in the PNW? I noticed the concrete your truck is sitting on... reminds me of my grandparents place in Snohomish WA with the pebbles mixed in.

Yes, I'm in Everett, WA. I do not like the exposed aggregate at all but it is what it is. Tears up my kids knees and hands when they fall.

Yes, started looking into it already. Was driving over the weekend on I405 and noticed all the reflections coming off my truck. I"m considering the possibility of also installing the Pro grille since I have to buy it with the surround. I like the honeycomb as well so trying to figure out which one i like more. Will also look into powder coating the bumper end caps.

I personally like the look of both of them, but keep in mind you’ll have to relocate the sensor if you install the Pro grille. @ARES makes a nice relocation bracket that quite a few members are using.
If you go the Pro route and decide to sell the honeycomb, let me know as I’d buy it off you.

I have the ares relocation and pro grille. It’s worked very well so far. If I had it to do over, I’d get a black surround and have it painted. The surrounds from Toyota that come painted are darker by a hair. If you look at a 2017 Pro in cement, it’s a hair darker than ours. All the other parts matched well and I think it’s because those are painted. Hope that makes sense, my wife said dinners ready and I’m starving.

Yes, I've heard that there is a difference between the 2017 and 2018 cement colors so have also been considering about getting the surround and bulge painted instead. I need to call around for some estimates first.
