Work in a coal fired power generating station as a machinist/vibration analyst. Soon to have my 39th year there. Coal plants in our area are soon to be dinosaurs. Never been a better time to be near retirement with that looming for our soon to be extinction. Learned a ton over the years and worked with some very fine folks.

Oh thank God. I was thinking you were quality control/customer service for rentals.

I could just hear it now “it looks like hair gel on the seats...”

That's awesome. In a sense I am selfish. I totally get a rush from helping people. The gratification out weighs the failure. Yes there are a lot of assholes and self intitled people out there. They will get there's in time. For the most part no one wants to come see us, but they need us.

And the second best part of my job is job security...I can go anywhere as anything with the right education and training. There are a lot of departments that require RN's to function. It can take time to find the right fit...but worth the wait.

Those things are totally annoying. We hear them in our dreams! But like you said, people rely on them. They are needed. I am glad there are people out there like you that can install them in our busy places. Sometimes it's a wonder how people don't run into each other more often.

I feel old at 32 because my work has been hiring people fresh out of college and I'll make references to 90s pop culture and I get blank stares and crickets in return. . . *sigh* time marches on. Stay strong Bri . . .

Yeah, I didn’t even notice it was a Sick Liter until I’d posted. :eek2: But if you saw somebody driving that truck daily you probably wouldn’t think twice, unlike the Lexus of the same price. My father-in-laws Ford 6L was by far the most expensive vehicle per mile of any light vehicle I’ve ever personally witnessed (and that included some mighty cheap labour) while my dad owned and drove a Mercedes diesel for 16 years (1976, back when they knew quality over luxury) and the darn thing was an economy car when you crunch the numbers. Not all is what appears on the surface.

Nothing wrong at all with shopping hard for good deals like you do. I do the same, just working my way “up” over the years.

Well, dangit Chris. You got me looking at used Lexus sedans for sale around here, and I made the mistake of showing the Mrs. a 2008 IS 250 AWD with reasonable mileage for a decent price. Now she wants to go see it tomorrow. Gotta find out more details, but I know it will be fast as it is silver.

Let me save you some time, you want to pass on the 2.5L motors. Low power, sludge issues. Research that a little Phil. Check out club Lexus, lots of good info.

Thanks man! Looking back toward 4cyl camrys before I saw this anyway. More room and cheaper, and much less cool. So much for keeping the old corolla ‘till next year. We’ll see. Idle hands are the devil’s playground.
