We had a deck put on last year and I ended up putting a tintable Cabot's from Lowes on there. It's held up in our brutal heat pretty well. They have regular stain too. You can get an idea of the stain in this pic (I was working on another project). One issue I've had is the heat has brought out some sap from a few boards so I'm going to need to repaint those when the temperatures drop a little more.IMG_3031.jpg

Yep! I know that feeling, but the beauty is that you start seeing remodeling in a different light and you have the confidence to try something else

You'll wanna let that pressure treated wood dry out for a few weeks or even months before you stain it. I wouldn't recommend a spray on sealer, they just dont last IMO.
I would get some deck cleaner and wood brightener. Use it on the old and new wood. Power wash it all. Let it dry a few days then stain it. I recommend using Armstrong Clark deck stain. You can apply that with a car wash brush on a pole. Goes on very easy and has great reviews. Dont use a solid or semisolid stain unless you like scraping, sanding and restaining every few years.
    Go with a semitransparent

I cannot stand linoleum so I replaced all mine with tile. Baths, entry, kitchen, and utility. I work for a tile company so I get a discount. Key in the kitchen and baths is to use fast set mastic under appliances so you can grout and get them reinstalled in a couple of hours.

My project right now is to pull and clean my soffit vents. Just got a new roof with ridge vents so I want as much flow as possible.

Water line busted today. Called the city and they said it’s my responsibility since it’s inside the property line (barely!). These roots are no joke.

Use a water hose with a brass high pressure nozzle to excavate (with water) the remaining areas around pipe you don’t want to hit with a pick-axe and bust.

Hard to tell, but all of the areas that are not grass I flattened the shit out of with the Dozer and adjusted the elevation by 3 feet. :)
I knew my arms were covered in dirt, but had no idea my face was covered until my wife and her friends came back from wine tasting and wanted a pic lol.

Get a little closer. Your pattern is still too wide at (80 Yards away) for total destruction.

I couldn't get any closer - it was hanging over a creek/canyon in my backyard.
After 5 shots of 00Buck, it went down without issue :)

I’m in the planning stages for an 11,000 sq ft 20x horse stall barn. I have two different windows and stone for samples on the front to show the client different ideas. This project will includes three different homes for living quarters, two horse arenas and multiple other structures. 42C9AE7A-2A85-4272-98DA-2DE642FC8F2B.jpg

lol. Yeah this whole project is probably 10-12 months due to multiple structures, land clearing , dealing with multiple municipalities, engineering, site development, architectural plans, construction and all the fun stuff I love to do. Show barns and competition arenas are definitely all about the details. Lots and lots of details!

Got a lot done on the shed today. Finished the base for the door, and most importantly, I painted it! I also painted the trim - just have to cut it and install it now. This was my first experience with an airless sprayer. It was spendy, but worth every frickin' penny! Especially painting the trim. I loathe painting trim - it takes forever with a brush. The setup time and clean up time is significant with the airless sprayer, but man, you can lay some serious paint in a hurry. I bet my total spray time today was maybe 1 hour and 35 minutes - and that includes two coats! Love this sprayer!

Well, it wasn't today but this was my last big project. Our back porch was pretty ugly, so I changed it up and think it turned out nice.

I’m definitely having more fun lol. Yesterday, I spread 21 truck loads in less than 30 minutes. The thing is amazing!
It really sucks that it costs me so damn much - Wish it didn’t have an hour meter! LOL

Moved 630 more yards of earth - and poured the 40x30 concrete shop pad.

First Concrete Driver: “Uh, is it just you 3 working this entire pad?”
Me: “Yep! I’ve never done it before, should be fun!”
    Driver: “oh shit, good luck”

    After pouring a 15x40 section

Driver # 2: “wow, it’s just you two working? Is the older guy over there okay?”
Me: “yea, that’s my step dad - he just threw up from heat exhaustion or because he was stung in the face twice by yellow jackets - not sure which”
Driver #2: wow - you know this is like a 5 person job trying to move 20 yards of concrete and finish it back to back right?
Me: “No, I have no idea but I’m about to pass out from raking all this fucking concrete”
Driver #2: “I bet you’d love to see the home-owner out here busting his ass like you right now!”
    Me: “I am the home-owner”
    Driver #2: “ohhh.”

    Yep! We made it :)
My step dad is pretty sore even though he didn’t put much work in. Pretty sure he’s not going to be helping me around the property any time soon.
My ass muscles are sore still LOL.
