Decided to post my semi-faux TRD Pro Build. Toyota stopped building the TRD Pro for 2018 right about the time that I went into the market for a truck, so that wasn't awesome. However, I was still able to find something that met my needs. I custom ordered a Limited CM in Cement (TRD O/R Package), with black interior. Started modding it before I ever took delivery, in the form of the following:

    1. TRD Pro Exhaust
    2. TRD Pro CAI
    3. Paint Protection Film
    4. Black Tube Steps
    5. Rubber Floor Mats
    6. Tailgate Insert

First mod I did was tow mirrors, as we have a 24' foot RV that I have to tow around. Tow mirrors disabled the BSM as well as the RCTA, which I wasn't wild about, but it's better than not being able to see around the trailer when I'm towing. Next I did a full debadge and also removed the TRD O/R Stickers. Then I did the biggee: TRD Pro Grill, hood bulge and black bumper ends. As part of the grill job, I relocated the TSS to just above the license plate. It's not fully behaving at the moment; the lane departure assist works, but the radar cruise control and emergency braking don't work. Basically, it's behaving as if the radar is really dirty. I'm going to play around with the sensitivity settings to see if that fixes it. Otherwise, I'm not sure what to do. The sensor is centered on the truck, and mounted 90 degrees to the pavement. I'm open to any suggestions.

Next mods will be a level kit, wheels/tires, ESP under seat storage and Marathon seat covers.

I am glad I didn't have to deal with that TSS stuff with my 2017. But the headlights on the 2018's are awesome. Good looking truck!

    Great start.

I've got the same truck coming - looks spec'ed almost identical to yours (Limited TRD Offroad Cement/Black) but I opted out of the sunroof. Ordered mine back 1st week of Dec. It's due 3rd or 4th week of March. I've put my name on the list for a set of the BAMF rock sliders. Also waiting on a quote back from the dealer on the TRD exhaust and intake (vs. install myself). I'll be adding LineX soon after I get it.

I'll be watching your build with interest.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. Ordered the leveling kit, wheels and tires over the weekend, along with smoked lenses for the tow mirrors; that orange just doesn't belong there.

Question: has anyone done a tonneau cover along with an in-bed toolbox? I've got a bunch of stuff I want to carry around with me (tools, etc.) that's never going to fit under the rear seats, and I'd also like to keep the bed dry for luggage, etc. Looking to keep it a fairly clean install, as if it came from the factory that way. Comments/thoughts welcome!

I have the tow mirrors that retain the BSM feature and they also came with smoked lens on the blinkers and running lights. I like the way you are going with your rig!Mirror2.jpg

For each of the six line items that I listed for my initial mods, my dealer charged me the same price as listed on the Toyota website:

    https://parts.toyota.com/accessories/Toyota__Tundra/Performance.html

I'm almost certain that the truck was built at the factory with the six line items that I mention above, but I could be wrong on that (@Roman could probably clue you in on that), but I don't think you should be paying a premium for install. FWIW, the CAI is so simple I'd suggest doing it yourself. YouTube videos abound on the topic....

Yeah, I'm going to wind up kicking myself once the '19 grill comes out, but I just couldn't stand the chrome any longer. Long story, but I was in this situation for the last year or so where it made send for me to drive a sh!tbox. Once I got back to the US, I wanted a nice truck to drive...and I wanted it NOW. So, I splurged. Maybe by the time the '19 grill comes around we'll be able to order only the insert. I hear that @Roman really loves it when you ask him about just ordering an insert, so I'll hit him up promptly....;)

Sweet truck! Did you have the bumper end caps painted black or vinyl wrapped?

And do you mind me asking what you paid for it before TTL? I'm in the market for a nearly identical truck right now.

The ordering process may be different across the different regions (not sure why that would be) but on the options list I had available when placing my order, I didn't have any options for the TRD stuff either from the factory or for a "port" install (aka Gulf States Toyota distribution facility for me). I would have preferred it just came with everything. Oh well.

That aside, I agree no premium for the dealer install. If the dealer won't install either/both items for what I can get them for myself from @Roman or likewise, I'll do both myself. I am trying to sell the dealer on the fact they get to keep the original equip so I should get a discount. I have also reminded them this is the 5th vehicle I've purchased from them. We'll see how that works out. (They wouldn't go for the buy 4 get 1 free idea on the overall truck purchase - go figure).
Main reason I want them to do the swap is then I am not stuck with trying to offload the parts replaced.

They are from an SR trim level; Roman has them available in the "Ultimate OEM Tundra Parts Thread" post

OK folks, dropped some serious coin over the weekend, but she's moving in the right direction. I added the following:

Ready Lift Kit (3" in front, 1" in rear)
    Fuel Vector 18 x 9 Wheels
    Toyo Open Country Tires (285/65/18)
Black lenses for the towing mirrors (royal PITA, FYI)

If you want to do the same lift, you can find the lift kit here:

    https://www.readylift.com/3-f-1-r-sst-lift-kit-toyota-tundra-trd-sr5-rock-warrior-2012-2018.html

The wheels and tires are easily located on the internet. A few findings:

    1. The tires rub a bit when the steering wheel is fully locked. A buddy of mine at work had the same issue and did some kind of mod with a heat gun on the inner wheel wells in order to get it to clear up. I'll report out on what he did.
    2. I thought that lifting the truck might correct my TSS sensor non-functionality due to the different angle with the road, but alas...no such luck. Will keep plugging away on this one
    3. Truck now has a very angry look to it, which I really like.
