Looking for Tundra 2WD with access cab, Suggestions on what year to buy and what years to stay away from!
Looking to purchase a Tundra 2WD access cab, auto, and either V6 or smaller V8.

Any input would be appreciated on what years to avoid. Which is the best gen. to buy?

Thank you in advance for your ideas and input!

Welcome! Do you mean the double cab? (Sorry I honestly don't know what an access cab is since I never had a truck with one). I honestly don't think there is a particular year to avoid....just things to look for (like frame rust issues on 1st gens). what are you looking for in the truck??

I think the access cab is the old style DC, you have to open the front door to open the rear ones.

Depending on the manufacture, it can be called:
access cab, king cab, super cab, etc. ---------------------does not have full rear doors. Some manufactures even give an option of no seats since there is not much leg room.

Looking for Tundra with King Cab, 2WD. Automatic with V6 or smaller V8. Prefer white exterior and grey or beige interior.

I'm not sure on the 1st gen tundras...they may have that, but 2nd gen and 3rd gen have the double cab (not full rear doors) and the crew max (full rear doors). As far as what generation is the best....you will have different opinions on that. I personally love my 3rd gen crew max...but it works for my needs with a family of tall people.

I hope others chime in on their opinions too.

Glad to have you and hope you can find something to suit your needs!

Welcome from NC! It’s a Toyota, every year is fantastic and reliable. You already made two great decisions: A tundra and the fastest color, white. You can’t go wrong with either!

Welcome from CO. All years good. 2007 and up.....4.6L V8 is the smallest you get. Access cab..I believe was available on 1st gens with a choice of V6 or 8 up to 2006. The 2nd gen DC is similar to the old King Cab back in the day. The Crew Max has even more rear space than a "king cab" if you need it but you will be limited to a 5.5ft bed!Something that you need to consider too. Double Cab gets you a 6.5ft or 8ft bed.

The first gens are great trucks if your looking for something not so full sized. The 4.7 has plenty of power. Might try looking at a 2005 or 06 double cab. They have a 6.5 bed and bigger back seat with standard rear doors. Plus, the rear window rolls all the way down. The access cab is still a great truck but the rear seat is small and has clam shell doors which can be quite annoying in certain parking lot situation. Good luck with your search
