Exactly. It doesn’t mean they’re the wrong person for you just because they are horrible at driving. You can teach somebody till you’re blue in the face and they still just might not have the knack for that sort of thing. I’d rather mess up my own shit than let somebody else do it for me. My wife isn’t a horrible driver but certain things like backing up a trailer will escape her forever. She makes up for it by being a great person.

My wife has her class A and drove a fire truck, ambulance (box), and currently drives whatever we have at work. No issues. However, she has me back the trailers up. We have a system w the boat. I put the trailer in and she puts the boat on it, like a champ every time, even when windy.
She prefers her Camry but the truck is always available to her.

    I wouldn’t have a problem with it.

My queen works hard, makes damn good money, why wouldn’t she be able to use OUR truck and toys. I encourage her to take the camper or Jeep out with her friends, but never does unless I go. Not really a girls weekend away if the hubby and kids come along. Frustrating to no end for me. Guess I’m in a whole different boat.

My Tundra is our only vehicle at the moment, so it's kind of a given that The Woman drives my truck. Fortunately, she's not a bad driver and has never damaged it. I'd prefer her to have her own vehicle, but since I'm the only one making money in the house right now it's not financially feasible. Her earning potential is pretty low, so she's working on finding a decent paying job and getting some better training and education. Once she starts pulling in some money, she'll be buying a RAV4 and then the Tundra is ALL mine.

I won't let her drive it if there's a trailer hooked up. She's never done it before and doesn't have the confidence or know how to do it safely. I'll have to teach her in an empty parking lot for awhile before I let her loose on the roads with a trailer.

So....i don't share my truck with anyone. It's just me and my kids. After my past experiences with vehicles and my ex ill be hard pressed to just let my truck go off without me. :anonymous:

I would love for my wife to be that confident in herself. I have asked her to drive my truck several times since I got it (I only have 3k miles on it so still new). However, her answer is always is "NO WAY! Your truck is too big for me to drive!"

Honestly, I feel like a jerk if I have something that I would not allow her to use, she is my better half after all. (saying this after nearly 11 years of marriage)

Yea, they won’t be taking “MY” boat. That is for sure. You are correct, “I” made my brother in law into a person with no regard for others property. Because of me he has destroyed not only his own shit but mine to!
Some people just dont give a shit and that is an attitude I don’t accept when it come to shit “I” work hard for.
My wife is a terrible driver, plain and simple. No matter how many times you try to explain and help it doesn’t change.
And “I” for one am god damn happy I have hobbies my wife isn’t into because I love my man time.
    But, to each their own..

Edit.... In our household we have our own things. The Tundra is “MINE” and the Highlander is “HERS”. It works for us and I plan to keep it that way.

YES. I believe their is a happy medium. We have things we both enjoy and we also do things on our own. Everyone should have some alone time for themselves and I encourage my wife to do whatever she likes.
Spending every hobby and minute together??? Disgusting!:D

Biggest thing is unfamiliarity with water depths, obstacles and such. I let my wife and daughter drive my boat out in the safer areas. I load and unload off the trailer by myself. Don't let my buddies help either. Not a woman or man thing. Its just if I fuck it up, it is on me. Don't want anyone feeling bad for something that they don't have experience doing. Loading a pontoon is a bit trickier than my old bass boat though.
My wife and I did have a time where it was super windy and I was jumping off the boat to try to get it on the dock. I almost fell in and let go of the rope. She was on it and it took a a bit of time for her to get it back over so I could grab on to it. She wasn't happy. She would never ask to take the boat out...She can take my truck out whenever the hell she wants though. She just complains it is too big. Like one other thing...my ego

If your BIL is such a douche, I would politely decline as well. There’s a fine line here. Would I let one of my friends or family members take my truck and toys? Nope.

I like him but he is one of those guys who just doesn’t care. We went back to San Antonio to visit, I rented a car and we went to his house. I came out and his kid was jumping on the hood. My BIL didn’t see the big deal in that.
Now, my wife and I go boating with the girls and she has learned how to bring the boat up in the trailer but she wants nothing to do with the boat or even driving my truck. She has told me numerous times it’s to big. BUT, her brother called and said tell Brad to let us take the boat and the truck and now she wants to do it. NOPE! If she shows interest and competence I would lighten up. I’ll teach anyone anything I know if they show genuine interest..
