    Hey Guys
I'm looking to get into a crewmax with TRD off-road package. I live in MI and have spoken to a couple dealers now but they will not go below $40,500 before ttl on a truck spec'd the way I want with an msrp of around 45k. The way the salesmen sounded, I was basically taking their firstborn son for that price. Unfortunately I am on a budget (and want to feel as though I'm getting a good deal) and hoping to get one closer to 38k. Is this even possible? From reading posts on here, other users are getting tundras for 12 to 15 percent off msrp which is quite a bit better than I've been able to find. Am I being unrealistic? Perhaps 40,500 for that truck is a good price.

Can anybody recommend a dealer in the Midwest who has given decent deals? I don't mind driving a ways.

I may have to compromise and get the SR double cab.

    Thanks for any help

I bought a CM TRD OR last summer and ended up paying just under 40k before ttl after a 2k rebate.

    Thanks :drunk:

You can probably guess why I want a Tundra...It will suck to give up the MPGs of my 2.7 eco burst but not at the expense of wondering, "Will my truck make it home from work today?" I miss my 2002 Tundra and feeling like it will never let me down.

I was able to get a 2018 CM Sport for 41,400 which included 1250 Toyota Cash rebate so it was more like high 42’s. Sticker was 46ish. So my guess would be 40 should be realistic.

Welcome from NC! Bought mine for about 4 grand below sticker. Also had dealer throw in tri fold tonneau cover and bed extender. Toyota is not known for coming much off of their sticker but that’s what you pay for piece of mind and reliability.
If you are getting $4,500 off sticker I feel that is a good deal. Maybe see if they will throw a few extras your way....

Welcome from Arizona. The price seems reasonable to me but I'd check True Car or similar for up to date info in your area.

When I was looking for trucks before I ordered mine, they were taking 5-7k off msrp on the lot, and 3500 off new models on order.

discounts are based on regional port, your 1750 rebate may not be available in all regions.

the backend discount is also regional based but on average you should be able to get around 10% off MSRP excluding GST/SET regions.

Everyone is on a budget. You got a quote for below msrp which is not bad. No point in worrying about the $2500 less that you are assuming the truck is worth. If that's truly over your budget, save up or buy used.

Negotiating with car dealers takes a little practice. If you say or do the wrong thing at any point in the process, you will never get the lowest price the dealer can sell for. IMO it's not worth worrying about 2 grand on a 45k truck if that's what you want.

I've found some better deals since my first post, like the one Adam posted above. I actually have that one on hold. Might try to have a closer dealer match or beat it. I feel that $38,900 for a CM TRD OR is a pretty good price.

Yes a quote below msrp is good. The OP got a quote for $5k below. Not bad. And yes, people pay above msrp. Happens with special or limited vehicles all the time. I remember there was a time that members here were paying at least full msrp on trd pros because they were hard to find.

Truecar or kellys blue book, put a few zip codes from your state and or border states, the dealers basically are selling the same truck, its just how much each dealer dealer wants to profit. When they cal tell them what you want, then when they call back make them a offer. Let them fight over it.

I was able to get a certified 2015 1794 with 14k on it for $38.5K. maybe going used with very low mileage could also be an option to get you into a premium truck. I was debating between this or a new TRD-OR.

I think you got a good price from them personally. I don't see Tundras being reduced that much at all. Now my wife sequoia we got $10,000 off MSRP but my 2016 Tundra they didn't want to budge at all for the most part. Ended up around 4,000 off
