Does your 3rd generation SR (2014+) have pressure tire sensor?

I'm buying some Toyota rims from someone. Nicer than the one that come with the SR model. If the ones I'm buying don't come with the sensor, do you think I could keep using the one's that are on the truck?
Or how does the whole thing work?

Or should the truck read the pressure with thr sensor on the truck?

You can have the old sensors switched to your new wheels. Any halfway decent tire shop should be able to do that w/o any issues. You can buy new sensors if you dont want to pay to have the shop pull the old ones out, but there's no point in doing that if you're keeping your tires

If your truck came with the stock steel wheels and you're getting alloy wheels, you should get the 20degree TPMS wheels made for allow wheels. The steel wheels use 40 degree tpms sensors that are not designed for use with allow wheels - you wont get a good seal between the sensor and wheel, and if you rotate them to fit, they may break.

    steel -

    alloy -

Anywho i wouldn't recommend it. its highly likely they will leak air where the sensor and wheel mates.

just get a set of tpms off ebay for $50, otherwise you likely have to pay to dismount and remount the tire if it does leak down the road.

I changed out my 2015 SR rims for Toyota rims and used my original TPMS sensors from the steel rims and have never had a problem .
