My truck is jealous of your truck. I think yours is the best built Tundra out there. There are some that are close but not quite there yet. I appreciate all the knowledge and info that you have and are so quick to share. I hope were wheeling together at some point this summer. Thanks!

Thanks homie! Before I even bought it back in 2013 I sat down and wrote a detailed 5 year plan. I had a vision back then of what I wanted; a backcountry exploration rig. Since then, a lot of the details of the plan changed, but I pretty much stuck to the core script.

As for that situation, its a pretty funny story lol That was day one of the last Joshua Tree trip. I was with @Spolar. We had already crossed that section; the trail had washed out to the drivers side. In order to get across, we had to turn left and go down the slope into the ravine, turn around and climb back up on the other side of the washout to get back on the trail. Well, we kept going for another quarter mile and the trail got too narrow so we had to turn around. Coming back (washout to the passenger side this time) it didn't look as bad. So I decided that would try to cross it. I figured I would dip down a little and climb out of it on the drivers side. Well, it was a little more than my articulation would allow and I crossed axles, lifted the diagonals, and lost traction. I had no choice but to back up and when I did The Truck slid to the passenger side and I got wedged between the slopes. It was actually pretty steep; hard to tell from the pics. Zac was afraid that I was going to roll over. It was close, but I wasn't worried about rolling, I was worried about extraction lol

After a beverage and a little debate, Zac tugged me from the drivers rear corner and it turned me just enough so that I could point the nose downhill to the passenger side and get free. It was one of those things that looked way worse than it really was

The only time I wheeled the Phoenix area I did Crown King with @KevinK @spenny @zackbremer. Crown King and Smiley rock were super fin trails! I think I posted a vid of Smiley rock

On that trip I went head on with a chebby on senator hwy and obliterated it. If you are ever hanging around the campfire with me, I'll show you pics of the carnage....

hahaha! Dont blame me for your badass build, thats all you homie!

Thx man! Yeah I was looking back through some of my pictures the other day and I can't believe how many awesome experiences I have had over the years. As for the mods, I am a firm believer in FUNCTION>FORM. Everything I modify on The Truck has a purpose. Beauty takes a backseat on this build lol I have a IS350 if I want to look pretty around town

haha! I don't know about being an inspiration. Building a truck like this sucks up a lot of time and resources. I've gone though one girlfriend and my backyard is in serious need of 10 or 20k, but it can wait LOL

But thanks dude, if I can steer just one person away from installing a spacer lift, then I will consider myself an inspiration

thx! Dude, the rear is working so well! That was only the second trip with the new leaf set up and I made some changes to the bump pressure and bypass tubes. It rides so nice on every type of terrain. I am officially done playing around with the suspension

lol thx! When I started this, the ending seemed so far away. But once you get there, its hard to tell that you even finished it.

    thanks yo!

Thanks dude! HAHA My video editing consisted of tapping the UPLOAD button on YouTube

Thanks homie! I was still trying to get used to the new set up. But its working well

Thanks homie!I love talking truck lol I will always do my best to help some one work out ideas and share knowledge. We'll definitely be wheeling wtf man! Sequoia in July and I'm starting to think about a Aug trip. Lets ROOOLLLL!!!

    Alex,
I was imagining a conversation something like this:
“Hey, bet you can’t turn your Tundra around here!”
“Oh yeah? Hold my beer, and watch THIS”

    Oside...
So I know that you have an LT front, SUA in the rear (with a custom WIDER spring leaf from Deaver) and bypasses at all 4 corners (with a 2nd shock mount in front).
What about your axles? Did you go with Lockers? None, rear only, front and rear?

I think that situation you were in on the JT trip pales in comparison to my Sedona trip over the weekend. I did do some damage to my skid though, so I'm officially not a mall crawler any more!
    (Schnebly Hill Road, Sedona AZ)
If my truck were in the situation you were in, I'd not only have to replace my skid, but also my entire front bumper!!

Let me know if you have any questions ;)

    HAHAHA!

Not yet! Lockers and gears are coming by the end of the year. They're just something I consider an optional upgrade, not really a necessity, but nice to have. I'll probably do front and rear lockers and 4.88 gears

Yeah once you have complete armor, bumpers skids sliders, you'll end up driving it a whole different way. Your supply of fcks to give will seriously diminish lol

Here's a few pics from my mountain bike trip to Big Bear. I drove up Fri after work, rode Skyline trail for 3 hours, camped on the south side, and then rode Snow Summit bike park Sat morning.

2018 Intense Carbine, Pro build with some mods. I love this bike! I switched from a 2016 Tracer last December and I'll never go back to little wheels lol

Man, that's a sweet bike. I'll have to take a closer look at them next time I upgrade. I switched from 29 to 27.5 this year, and I love the smaller wheels, haha.

LOL my fist MTB was a 29 hard tail. Then I switched to 27 and rode those for 4 years. But the geometry on the new 29s are so dialed its unreal. The new suspension layout on the carbine shortens the chainstays and thats been the key improvement I think.

Intense just dropped the price on all of their bikes by a couple grand because they switched to direct sales.

I just completed a 3 day trip to Big Bear with @ryanjboutin @01erionracing @Spolar Hoagie and Jason. Good times! Gold Mountain was pretty torn up compared to last year. Also, I was able to make it to the top of the John Bull Gatekeeper. I need to winch over one rock and I cracked a bedside, but I made it lol I'll post video of that when Ryan gets it to me. We had a blast! Big Bear is the most technical wheeling we do. It's fun to get out on the rocks. But now I'm looking forward to Sequoia which will be a lot more relaxing lol

    Pfffft... Buncha Newbies!! ;)

I've been riding 26rs since the late 90's. 9rs and 650b/27.5 didn't come around for at least 10 years after that.
And I'm STILL on 26in, and I will be until I can no longer get new tires.
