Anyone purchase intake and ended up installing stock back on with drop in filter?

Has anyone purchased an aftermarket intake and needed installing the stock back in with a drop in filter if so did you notice any throttle difference?

 

I’ve owned 3 Tundra’s. First one installed CAI which lasted half a day before I went back to stock. IMHO they rob low end power and torque. Others may say different but I trust my butt dyno over my ears.

 

What filter you recommend

 

I had AFE CAI. Ended up putting the stock box back on and installing AFE dry paper filter instead.

 

I went with a SABM (standard air box mod) You use your cai you already have and modify it. Carbon fiber delete/ AFE Pro S Dry filter from Toytec. As far as horsepower gain...negative, but my throttle response is better and a nice throaty rumble to go along. To my best guess I picked up 1 mpg, hwy driving of course.

 

OEM, you can get them on Amazon for 3-4 times less than a high performance filter and trust me you will not notice the difference.

 

So i will be selling my volant intake and installing the stock back on
