Weathertechs on a 2016 Tundra...

I ordered some third gen Weathertechs liners (fronts and whole for back). I'm not super impressed with the fit of the back mat. It cutouts for the seat frames are big enough and the edges flap out and have nothing to hold them down. So now the doors just crunch them.

Anyone run into this or have a fix?

I've had same thing happening in the beginning and what worked for me is to leave it out in the sun for couple hours and then install it in the truck. Worked like a charm.

Weathertech does not list floor mats for 2016 Tundra...could this be the fit problem? Toyota changed the floor a little bit and Weathertech does not have the 2016 product ready yet?

I would never be happy with the fit in your pictures.

 

2014-2016 are all exactly the same. Toyota didn't change anything to the floors.

 

Gravity will help them lay like they should. It's just from the way they are packaged.

 

I went with the weathertech over the Husky because rear floor coverage. So if I take out my storage compartment under the rear seat everything is covered for the most part. They do fit kind of lame because the edge is so thin, and the door will crush it if it's not totally flush with the doorsill. The fronts are another story, if your foot is next to the door when you close it, it will grab the lip of the mat and lift it up. The passenger-side slides all around. If I were to do it again I would've got husky for the fronts WT rear. Although I'm not real satisfied with the wt in general. I wish the Husky would offer full coverage for the rear seat floor.

 

They do now. At first I bought Husky's front and back (crewmax). Then WT came out with theirs, which have a much nicer rear, so I started looking into it and noticed Husky updated their rear design to match WT's coverage so I called them to see if they could cut me any break since I bought from them direct and they improved their design shortly after my order. They offered nothing, weren't even nice about it. I ordered a WT rear and I love it.

 

It will settle down,mines were like that too,i did put a little piece of two sided tape at the doorsill for few days then stays in place but it will settle down on its own regardless, no biggie

 

after having both weathertec and husky liners now i would go with husky every time. the material is far superior, the channels are deeper in the mats and the x-act contour fit spot on in my fronts. i have however heard they don't sit as nice on the floor in the back.

 

hard to argue with that! they look like they lay as flat and perfect as the fronts do

 

I've had both. The weathertechs last longer and are more durable. I have found that the ribs for the channels wear down or tear after after a while. What I have done in the past is installed the hook part of velcro to the mats. Holds them in place really well. There are no fasteners in the passenger floor so this keeps it in place.

 

Well it was in a box so yea

 

Take them out, turn them inside out and leave them that way for 24 hours in a warm place. The plastic has memory and this procedure will bring them back and help with a loose fit. If you called Weathertech customer service they would tell you to do this. Been there, done that. Good luck.

 

HEATED MY FRONT MAT WITH A HAIR DRYER TO GET IT TO LAY DOWN, BACK MATS WERE FINE!!!!

 

Front was nice fit but back didn't. So i returned it and ordered Husky weather beather. much better

 

Have any of you used the WeatherTech TechLiner (Bed Liner) & Tailgate Cover?
