    i did the same for mine. i have the hk vp9 and i used that 3m tape. mine keeps falling off...anyone else have that problem?

    Lot of heat were you are? Clean the surface with alcohol and now tape. If that doesn't work you could always use some self taping screws... If you don't mind the permanent holes.

    First time post here. I just got the welcome email and I thought I'd give my opinion on this.

    I think it's fine to store a weapon in a vehicle under certain circumstances but I wanted to warn people not to take their firearm out of its holster ever except to use it or clean it. So don't use this method to unholster a weapon and then store it. Always store the firearm with the holster you brought it in. There have been numerous NDs because of that.

    I like that you said "accidental discharge" and not "negligent discharge". I had a debate the other day about how the terminology really changed on that the past years. You can have a car accident, accidentally stub a toe, strip a screw on accident, but for whatever reason people have the mentality for firearms there there is no such thing as an "accident".

    +1 to always keeping it in a holster. I usually keep mine physically on me, but it depends on the rig I am going with, how long the ride is, etc... I am lefty so the seat belt buckle doesn't interfere! :woot:
    I really want to get the console safe :locked: Does anyone have anything bad to say about it before I spend ~$280?

    I bought the Locker Down safe first week i had my truck. I searched the net and found a 10%discount code. The safe is the highest quality you could hope for. It is built solid very nice clean edges nice finish and pretty dang heavy. Bolts in really nice and tight. I am extremely happy with it. For how well it is built i think its worth every penny. This aint some chinese junk LOL. I also bought the console organizer off Amazon and cut them down to fit in the safe.
    Only other thing i want to do is find a light or a couple lights to fit inside the safe.

    Correction, the one in my console 2nd gen has only 2 D batteries. 4 D battery mag light most likely wouldn't fit.

    Yes very happy. You only loose maybe a half an inch... probably less..cant remember exactly but it is not enough to worry about. I used a miter saw set to the angle of the parts and cut equal amounts off each side, kind of guessing and checking fit. Basically you want to sneak up on a perfect fit. Then i took a file and smoothed all the top edges. The dividers edges are sharp out of the package so i would recomend smoothing the edges anyway.

    At first I thought you were joking, but then I realized you were not. This is just like the debate about carrying a weapon without a round in the chamber. Personally, if someone does not know how to safely handle or carry a loaded weapon...you have absolutely no business carrying a weapon and there are serious consequences for those actions. There has been a few times that when unholstering my weapon, that throughout the day, somehow the safety was taken off my 1911 (and another reason I took the ambi safety off my gun. I'm not a lefty) and noticed through muscle memory (I train in two different ways: 1) I always check the safety on when not under need. 2) when drawing my weapon for simulated threat, I train to drop the safety at my torso. This way you don't put a .45 round in your leg.) , that is the first thing I check when unholstering. I heard the click and realized it was ready to go. Personally, I have thrown a shitload of lead downrange and never seen a weapon discharge without a finger inside the trigger guard.

    I mean, what do the cops do every day when they change into street clothes and carry their service weapon? My lord, what do I do with my M4 or shotgun in need of transport. This is why I shoot by myself in the mountains or with very select few. I take a weapon with me every day and handle it no less than 4 times since 21 (so that would be 20 years sir). I can't believe that no less than 10 people haven't been shot :rolleyes:

    image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg This is my setup. I just purchased a cheap nylon holster with a magazine pouch. Then used some rather large pop rivets and the strap used to measure/adjust the holster. This allows for movement. This will be easy to remove when I sell the truck.

    This is very quick to get if needed. I don't leave my weapon in the truck, so no worries on that.
