I am in Celina and will be installing some 35's in the next week or so. I will have a 3/1 lift with a 30mm offset rim. I am sure that I will be needing a body mount chop done. I am fine with cutting the mount myself, I, however, have the welding skills of a one-armed T-Rex. Does anyone know a shop that will weld plates in for me? A friend of mine that does some fabrication won't touch it due to liability reasons if I was ever in a wreck, which I get.

Any suggestions? Is it really necessary to box it in?

You may not need a CMC with that offset, even on 35’s. Your alignment will also come into play as to whether you need it or not.

Another one of those things I'm unsure of. If it was something off truck, my mechanic at work would probably throw it together. Best guess would be to call an Off Road shop and see if they would/could do it, as they are the ones most likely to that stuff often.

No experience with them, but I’ve read good reviews on Baertrax in Dallas. Started out with custom Jeep fabrications, but they do Toyotas, buggies, roll cages, bumpers, etc. I’m guessing a CMC would be relatively easy for them.

Oh, and just clarify, CMC = cab mount chop, aka body mount chop.

Turns out I wont need one with the 30mm offset. Just some typical wheel well trimming and skid plate trimming.
