Well this is aggravating, 2011 Tundra, base-ish model, no auto headlights, no fog lights.

Headlight switch took a crap on me tonight. I'd noticed that it was way too easy to accidentally turn off the headlights when you hit the turn signal, left or right. Like there wasn't enough resistance to keep the switch from clicking back to parking lights or off.

Anyways, had somebody cut me off tonight, so I'm flashing my high beams and on the horn, lights turn off, except this time it turns forward past the "ON" position and turns the lights off. Noticed the switch, you could push it in or pull it out from the stalk, looks like the spring in there crapped out.

Is this a common issue?? How hard is it to replace this myself?? I'm used to taking apart interiors and doing stereo installs. Is there a TSB out there for this issue???(if so, maybe the dealer will fix it). I know the truck is out of warranty but it has 57,000 miles on it.

    Well this sucks.

Sounds like you got a little aggressive with the switch.

Luckily this multi function switch is pretty easy swap. YouTube that.

Well I might have fixed it temporarily. Pulled the end part of the stalk all the way out, stuck it back in, it re-engaged and clicked back in. The headlight switch still doesn't feel super tight, but it doesn't feel broken like it did yesterday.
