Thanks. Im not sure about the a pillar either.... has a few dents on the roof as well. Broke all my headlight tabs on my new rx350 retros i just put on and scracthes all along the drivers side from the front to rear. Hopefully if insurance fixes it... ill be doing the oem hood scoop. Truck is only a little over a year old.

 

My guess is that pillar gets cut out and a new section spliced in, but I'm not a autobody guy. That's a crappy thing to come back to from vacation, sorry about your luck. Hopefully you can get it repaired quickly without to much hassle.

 

That's sucks !!!....Windshield pillar needs replaced ....dont let any shop "Repair" IT !!!

installed 2018 headlights and fogs. made my own harness for the fun of it. shout out to @iHacker , dude hooked me up by answering a ton of questions. had i not wanted to make the harness for the fun, i would have for sure gone with his new harness. Thanks to all the pioneers as well for PNs and the like for all the connectors and stuff. True testament of the usefulness of these forums.

(MGM bumper caps should ship any day now from sparks! Will really finish off the "terminator" look, according to my wife!)

 

Got home from a 13 hour shift and a box was waiting for me. I had ordered these last week and forgot. Cheap eBay LED puddle lights. I think they were $20. Supposed to fit Toyota and Mazda. I have to say the fit was not perfect, they didn't snap in very securely and tight like the OEM lights. So I used a few dabs of hot glue, then once they were in place I got glued the perimeter of them and shaved the excess off. They look good and seem brighter to me. Even with the need to hot glue,it took about 15 minutes to do this project.
Does anyone know how to make the puddle lights stay on longer when you unlock the doors? I swear they are only in about 5 maybe 10 seconds.

 

Where is this from? How much if I may ask, and any vids of it in use? Thanks. Looks like it should do a great job...

That pillar is high strength steel you are not allowed to repair it .... you have to replace it

 

I stepped in shit and won it in a free giveaway. I was only winner with bout 1400 entries. It's shipping to me on Monday so I'll know more pretty soon. Can't say I know much or anything about them. Never had them before and it's not something I would've went out and spent money on normally. Although the thought of having it all is growing on me and I'm sure I'll find some uses. If nothing else I'm sure the kids will love it. People who cut me or piss me off probably won't.

I agree. (Agree with the the guy that does it for a living, quite a stretch right?) Last time I checked was if the A-pillar was compromised structurally, the vehicle was usually totaled by the insurance company. But this looks, emphasis on looks, cosmetic. The only time I know of A-pillars being cut out is to cut the roof off to add a full cage.

Would this constitute a new cab or a new truck? Fill it with bondo? I would not accept bondo or pulling the dent.

 

Finally installed some of @Sting Ray 's LED backlit pro grill letters.

 

Installed Invisible Shield, a 3M Scotchgard clear film to keep stone hits down. I did an ok job for my first install, learned a lot. I did the hood, upper front fender, upper bumper, handle scoops, also behind rear wheel.

 

Kudos to you guys that were able to vinyl wrap ANYTHING! I gave the rear bumper a go last night and the end result was a ball of vinyl wrap and me drinking whiskey! Powder coating them Monday. Surely, it’s ok to drive the truck like this until they finish them right?

 

Added an awning!

 

Not an exact color match, but I recovered my console in pleather.

 

Very nice. Can you rotate that so when not in use for yourself you can cover the cab, and hood of your truck? Only truck at Walmart in covered parking

 

One of the drawbacks (as few as there are) in living on a rural lot. A couple of really close calls over the years with a previous truck. Hope all turns out to your benefit, especially a New TRD Pro Hood.
