    Hi all
    I’m just bought a 2015 TRD OFF ROAD SR5 Crewmax with the 5.7 gas Gray color with a color matched ARE Cap. I really would like to find the PO and see if he could help me out with some questions. It’s an Allentown, Pennsylvania Truck and has upgrades;
    20” Micky Thompsons
    Phoenix amp with sub
    Mesh Grill cover
    Aries step rails
    Dual exhaust

A CarFax report should give you the previous owner's name.

CarFax will not have actual name/s of previous owner/s. Carfax will state how many owners there have been only.

Best bet is to go back to the dealer and have the dealer contact previous owner to see if he/she will talk to you....

Nothing in the glove box by chance? It might be possible to get info from DMV.

this sounds crazy but when i purchased my tundra 3 weeks ago it had navigation, well i went in there to change the home address settings and it still had the previous owners address. worth a shot if you had navigation. i know mine was accurate home address because i did a carfax and report on all dealer services and it was in the same city. then googled the address and it was a homeowner and went on web and found owners name ... blah blah blah. too much time on internet i guess. lol

No navigation, I searched and found a truck without all the lane departure, automatic brake assist, wake the dam hell up stuff that I could find and funny thing is I wasn’t going to buy one without navigation but my phone is free and gives me up to the minute traffic and alternate route information which has really saved me a lot of problems and travel time. I’m actually glad it doesn’t

This would be what I'd try. Better to have the persin be aware you want to talk IMO. When I traded my tacoma in, I made sure to tell the dealer that I'd be happy to talk to whomever buys it. Sure enough I got a phone call about a week later. I had done quite a bit to it and he just wanted to chat and check a few things.

    This ^^^^
    We're here to help :)

No in all actuality all is well, I had some time yesterday and dove into some of the mysteries I had questions about. I wanted to know what was wrong with the stereo system, turns out they put a sub and amp in and blown out some Hertz after market speakers, you should see the way they were wired, bared and wrapped method ie scabbed into the stock wires then the speakers not fitting in the original holes correctly were sheet metal and drywall screwed into the side of the truck!!!! AWSOME JOB !!!!!! Then I had a question about a $1.99 red toggle switch that I found went to nothing. So now that there’s no plastic left in the truck I can see and fix the lovely job that has been done. Looks like they have a 1200w amp feeding through stock wires which in my experience always works real well and most of the wire connections either blew off or fell off the speakers. It’s a real shame because they used good equipment but didn’t install it close to right. But while I’m on here ranting and such I’m going to do a mod mostly for looks but if anyone has any experience with lights, what kind of beam am I expecting to see from a hella 1000 black magic. There going in my grill.

That's funny. Drywall?? Heheh.. Nothing like buying quality stereo goodies and using the local Dollar Tree store speaker wire and paper towel for sound deadening. Haha! Those Hellas should throw out a decent beam. I really the Hellas. Perfect form for using in the grill.

I'm sure they don't want to hear from you if you are going to criticize their work. You just blew any chance of someone on here admitting to being the previous owner.

I had the 700 FF's before and were really good. Those super slim 1000 Black magics are bad ass. I'm considering putting some lights behind my grill too. Amazon has the 1000 kit for $218

Those are the types or reasons I never buy modified cars/trucks. I know it can seem like a deal sometimes because you get all these "upgrades" basically for free but too many people out there don't know (or don't care) how to do things right and just half ass them or worse. Glad you are getting it sorted out.

I live by the adage " when someone shows you who they are, believe them".

Maybe its a good idea not to talk to the previous owners and just find out stuff, fix it the right way and keep on keeping on.
If they use drywall screws and other crazy stuff, I think thats enough to know their capabilities or lack thereof :).

You don't argue with an idiot, because they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Same rules apply in this instance. Good luck and do it right the first time.

CARFAX will tell you the name of the dealer that sold the truck to the first owner, if they’re nice they will probably give you his contact info.

Chalk it up and move on. You may open a can of worms instead of you start chatting with them.

You don’t expect him to fix it now that you have it.

Buddy up w a partner and go mod the crap out of your vehicle.
